Alright, taking my boat to the dealer next month to leave with them to try to figure out the power steering. It turns much harder to the right than it does to the left. The turning radius to the right is half what it is to the left. Found posts about wires on the board being secured too tightly or too loosely causing problems, but the wires seem to be secured correctly. What sensors should I ask the dealer to check to possibly shorten my wait to get it back?

So the 255xd with the drive tech is and electric steering wheel sensor, an electric hydraulic pump and a hydraulic cylinder.

You should feel little to no resistance in the steering wheel. technically there is electro magnets to simulate steering feedback but on my 2022 it has little to no feedback.

The turning radius to the right is half what it is to the left. Is either an issue from the surfpoint " nozzles toed in" to center the jet blast,
Or you need to have the Yamaha tech run a steering re-calibration.

A easy way to check overall steering is to make a few marks on the ram slides.
Step one with the boat off, turn the hydraulic pump bypass knob fully open.
Then push the ram/ cylinder fully extended and mark this position on the white slides.
Now fully retract the ram/cylinder and mark this position on the white slides.
Next I measured this overall length and found center.
Now put ram/cylinder in the center position. (This is not critical the system will self cent during next restart.) After centered close the / tighten the bypass knob.

Now with the boat running turn fully left then fully right While checking to see if you are getting full movement from the system.

My boat spent 2 months at the dealer with just 4hrs on it. They ended up putting 25hrs on it trying to fix steering issues, I'm ok friends with the service manager so I was kept in the loop. I also helped during some of the testing.
My ram/cylinder magnet position sensor was loose inside the cylinder causing faults.

Should have noted also that when cruising on plane top center of my steering wheel is at 10 o’clock instead of 12.
