195 open (250hp) Running hot....

I know... mea culpa... As I said, after some more research this seems to be a "not uncommon" issue. Its even dedicatedly covered in the Rotax Service Manual
To me, the first thing to check when there is an over heating issue is to check the thermostat. I’d want to verify that it was functioning properly to ascertain whether or not it was the issue, and since I had it out I’d replace it with a new one AFTER verifying that it worked properly.

By your description of where the thermostat is, a replacement water pump impeller may be in order as well since you’re in there. I’d also do the salt away clean out procedure, as I understand it you just have to be careful how long the boat runs on the hose due to the carbon sealing ring. The good news is that your engine is nowhere near the alarm point.

darn it… so bearing is ruled out for now. i dont want to accept 204@6500… pulling wakeboards requires me to “pull hard” meaning i need 7500
When you find a solution to get the temperature back down, please share the solution. I’m obviously interested. I didn’t want to point you in this direction unnecessarily, and hopefully this is not needed in your case, since it sounds like an expensive solution. However, the link below documents another boater’s high engine temperature issue that was resolved with a new ride plate, thermostat and water pump. Maybe you’ve already seen this thread. Ouch$$$

Looks like the ride plate did the trick in that instance. That makes total sense that is where all the heat from the engine is rejected.

I read that thread yet, as I pointed out earlier, the ride plate being "clogged" is something I technically barely understand, the channels are very wide and its only fresh water/coolant in there...

My next step is thermostat... might as well do the supercharger then (boat is a 2018 and at 90h now yet was sitting years, so maybe time even though ist officially "maintenance free")... I am torn what to do with the cat.

Does anyone know the type of head of the two screws holding the cat in the bracket that is attached to the engine?
