When you say “head storage “ do you mean the front of the tower? Not sure what you are describing in “fish box” either but I’m interested to check both of those spots when I understand better!

Yes in front of tower, and the box on the floor in bow

Ok cool now I know where you mean. I’ll check mine this weekend. Have you had water over the bow or sides in rough water? I have not and when I pulled out my cushions after storage in the console seat storage they were dry. There are usually also about 3-4 relatively hidden plugs similar to the back of the boat plug in each of the “compartments” in the floor for drainage. I usually keep them closed until I check for any water that needs to be drained. They funnel the water to the drain plug. Check to see if they are open or closed?

South Carolina...deposit was put down in September.
BKeenan - which dealer did you use? I’m moving to NC in a couple weeks and am looking (hoping) to put some $$$ down on a 2022 at this point. No 2021’s to found nationwide.

Ok I checked my boat for any water in the front storage and the center console hatch. No water, it was bone dry. I did my check after 5 hours fishing and driving several miles in 3-4 foot swells. Never got any water over the sides or front. Not sure how to help you find the source but I’d definitely have it checked out.

Hey folks I’m 4 weeks into owning my 252 and thought I’d give you some things to check now that I have 25 hours, and it’s first service done.
1. Side scan doesn’t work, dealer says it’s transducer, will be 4 weeks before they get the part.
2. Check your connections everywhere. My console top nav light wasn’t plugged in at all. My battery connections were hand tight, loose enough to cause a non starting issue.
3. Today the port engine died heading in to the dock in rough water. Restarted immediately so I thought no big deal. Then it happened again about 20 minutes later. Restarted immediately again so I got concerned. I noticed when restarting the key seemed to turn too far. Tonight was launching the boat and the port engine would not start, key turned a complete 360 degrees. I had to tighten the nut that held the ignition switch in place. Looked behind switch in console hatch (very easy access) and the bullet connectors on the wires were barely together. Pushed them together tight, engine started right up. Be a good idea to check those when you pick it up.
4. Live wells overfill, drain tubes seem a bit slow to drain.
That’s all so far. I love the boat, but I do think they rushed through the final inspections and manufacturing due to demand and the rush to deliver.

so for the side scan what part are they ordering? Is it covered under warranty? I was under the impression that side scan was not an option due to a through hull transducer.

I was told by the dealer the current transducer was being replaced. Interesting that you mention “through hull” as I had never heard that before being a problem for side scan imaging. A quick google search confirmed the issue. However, after reading multiple message boards on the subject, I’m convinced I don’t know the answer. ?. There are tons of messages saying it both works, and doesn’t work! I guess I’ll learn the answer when the current transducer. The Simrad site says it does have sidescan and downscan.

Performace East in Goldsboro. Awaiting customer pickup. I might steal it first!! Lol

So talking to a guy here who has a close relationship with a Yamaha factory, he said that they didn’t even start production on the 252 and 255 FSHs until May 2021. And the boat that all the dealers had was the one boat they made and they did a tour of America taking it to each dealership. Interesting
