This weekend while in a marina and backing out, received a BCU alarm I could not reset, even after multiple times.
Brought it to the dealer today and given it is a brand new boat, they jumped in and started troubleshooting.
As a last resort, they decided to open the throttle housing and there it was, the port cable had come unseated.
Only suspicion is that some debris hit (or got caught in it) it perfectly while the gates were closing and caused the line to flex.
Dealer kept the boat for a deeper inspection to ensure no other issues.

When you say "Throttle housing" what do you mean? I assume you mean the throttle cable at the engine itself as these are electronic throttles controls at the helm?

Not sure how a reverse gate impact would have ANY involvement with the throttle connection at the engine???

When you mention throttle housing was it the Part #1 Remcon. Lever assembly Or Part #9 Motor assembly ?

Julian replied the same time I was typing

Im Thinking its the motor assembly, for winterization I reach in and flip the switch on each side it releases the cable somehow alwowing me to move the shift bucket freely by hand I do this to have the ability to move it up and down periodically and make sure the cable does not gaul up from salt build up

It was a crazy morning and I did not get to see it personally. Mechanic came out to the boat and was under the helm, came out with the covering (looks to be in the picture) and is the same the recall notice shows. I’ll definitely share updates but it was apparent where the throttle cable sets into “the groove” ===>>||.
they wanted to keep it for more inspection. The engine had power but was also showing a lost drive type error. Dealer had never seen this but could only assume (at this point) the cable was flexed somehow allowing it to pop out given the cover spacing that is on the housing. i really wanted to see it but also respected some distancing. As soon as he set the cable back in the slot the boat picked it up. Will share more as soon as I can.

Ok....based on what you've written I think it was a gate control cable that was dislodged not a throttle cable. The throttles are drive by wire from the helm. The cables coming out of the binnacle are gate control cables and run to the gate control motors behind the helm on the floor under the black plastic box. From there, servos move the gates on the pumps.

Please share more details . I would be very upset but this site has A lot of support to help resolve issues . Don’t give up yet

I mean to be honest I'm looking at getting my money back and just risking getting through shallow waters in a direct drive boat since they are far superior in regards to water sports. But it's a shame because this boat is perfect for my family. I have combed through this site and seen probably everything theres is to see regarding this issue. I also collaborated with the Yamaha repairman, (the dealer sent him out to my place in Galveston to try and fix on the spot), and even he said that Yamaha just doesn't have a sure fix and he knows some things to try and temporarily fix, but nothing to resolve. It's a shame they will probably continue to charge near 100k for this years and next years boats knowing they have major issues.

Would be really helpful if you could start a new thread describing your problem and what the dealers and Yamaha have done so far trying to fix it. Are you referring to the intermittent BCU errors some people have had?

Update- So one of the guys at my dealership spent over 25 hours working on the boat. But has resolved the problem; he tried many things and ended up completely removing and reinstalling the cable system with a new one he ordered. This has resolved the problem for now and hopefully moving forward. Just wanted to give an update.
