Anyone else fleeing their state?

Absolutely Leaving Here.

Florida here I come.

Evening all

It’s been a busy day. I worked on finishing up getting the outside stuff ready. Whats left in the shop is ready to be loaded in the trailer. My wife has been boxing everything in the house up and tomorrow evening a friend & I am going to load all of the furniture, then the rest of the boxes and whatever else that’s left. The last things that should be left in the house will be the TV, plastic chairs and mattresses. We’ll load them up the morning of the 29th and be outta here.

Awesomeness!

Por Que? (Why?)

Aloha!

For recreational boating Hawaii is sort of a one-trick pony...the Ocean plus the facilities are crap (except for the rinse down areas). The waters and the scenery are spectacular for sure, but I'd trade it to go to a lake or a river and be able to pull up somewhere, get off the boat and go have a drink or lunch.

I agree 100%

If you want to go diving or deep sea fishing this is your place. If you want to boat recreationally, not so much. We will be leaving here and moving back to the mainland within a year. Just need to figure out where!!

Wow, I would have never guessed that, then again I have never been to Hawaii. I guess what you see on TV opposed to living there is significantly different. You are kind of “trapped” to a singular location.

@Babin Farms Good luck with the packing and safe travels to the new home!

I know I'm not on the way, but if you're in the neighborhood on your travels I'll cover a drink and lunch!

One thing you don’t really appreciate, unless you have been there, is how far Hawaii is from the mainland U.S. and the lack on medical services in most of the islands. Had folks tell us that if they can they often wait on medical procedures until they can come back to the mainland. We loved the Big Island and look forward to the day we can go back.

Trailers are loaded and myself, son and family friends are heading out in the morning. The wife is already on her way down with daughter, dog, cat, gecko & staying in Huntsville overnight8C85BBA6-FBAB-4424-A8CD-9CFE5AEB9894.jpeg0D63B4D4-D551-4EE1-A4DF-D114112FCA3C.jpegC15EC0EE-8DB9-4583-98BB-1BC0942A1195.jpegB5DCF207-71E4-4EED-BE46-537E4A7A26AA.jpeg.

Holy smokes that trailer is PACKED! Should be quite a workout for the Tahoe! There won’t be much carbon left on the pistons after this trip !!!!

Good Luck!

The jam packed trailer is the 30’ that my GMC 2500 will be pulling. The Tahoe is pulling a 24’ trailer & packed a bit lighter but still going to give it a workout. I’m just glad I fit everything in the two trailers, truck & car.

Youve got a good spacial eye then! It should do your vehicles good, cool temps and a good load.

So you should be at the new place in New Year’s Eve ??!!

Yes sir! Driving straight through and arriving tomorrow night, staying in a hotel and offloading trailers the next day. Probably head back north to return the trailer and pull the boat down Monday or Tuesday.

Right on! Travel safe and, pardon the unsolicited advice, take a break every two hours, it helps a lot towards the end of the day. You are covering some serious ground.

Stoked for you!

Safe travels, and welcome to the south!

I have not been to Alabama, but I know an old co worker who moved there and said it’s spectacular. I don’t think you will regret it.

Trade you my property on Lake Livingston in TX for your farm! Would love to have some farmland!
