Im getting a late start on boating this year. I pulled my boat out of storage in early April hoping to get out, but life kept throwing curve balls. When I pulled it out, I installed the battery that had lived on a Genius battery charger all winter on a shelf in my garage. Since then it's been sitting installed in the boat in the driveway with the main switch off.

I'm finally am heading out Saturday. In getting a few things ready tonight I decided to put it back on the charger until I leave Saturday. The charger inducated that I'm below 50%. It's the original battery so it's 3-4 years old. Should I pick up a new one tomorrow? I always take along my little jump bag, but I don't want any headaches the first weekend out.

Thanks!

I'd pull the battery and take it to an auto parts store where they can run a test on it and see if it is good. That way you can make an informed decision on if it is in need of replacing.

Also check the water level in the battery. Water has a way of evaporating...

Had it tested...and it failed. Glad I got it replaced instead of it ruining my day today!
