I know one of the first things I will need to replace is my bimini sun top. Its always deployed cause Im a total white boy so it really takes a beating. Has anyone replaced the fabric and what am I up against for this

@evil, here's a link from a previous discussion on the same subject. my friend, @Joel Caron posted on this link and had a Sunbrella top done, in his state of Texas, for around $370 which included zippers installed for easy removal from the frame. You may not want to go that far out to have one made but that should give you some ideas.

Here is a link to one of yamahasports plazas pages for a 2013 212x Bimini. The entire Bimini including frame is under $800, the Bimini alone is under $400 and the boot or cover for it is under $150. Unless you are going for a custom color or different design i recommend that you just replace the stock unit with another one. Speaking from experience going custom will take longer and may cost more than stock.

@Evil Sports The main reason I went custom is to easily remove the canvas from the frame for cleaning. Personally, I think it worth the time to get one made if you use a quality fabric.

I spoke to a friend over the weekend and he has "A Guy" that can make me a new one with zippers. Thats the way I will be going. Paying $150 for the "boot" is ridiculous. If I have a new one of those made mine will have 2 zippers that close in the center not at the edges. The stock one unzips when trailering so I have to bungee it.

Good timing on this thread, I was going to start a similar one after this past weekend. My boat came with all the poles but no canvas.

@Evil Sports. What are they charging to make the top? I got my boot at Overtons for about $60 and the size and red color was perfect . They currently have free shipping with no minimum.

I have not looked into the price yet, can you post a link to the boot you got and what size I would need for my 212

I have a small tear in my bimini from last year that I would like to get repaired or replace the canvas. I'm trying to not spend a ton on it. So far I cannot find anyone who repairs them.

Take a look at “tear aid”. They make two products one for a vinyl and another for canvas.
