I normally get in my boat and leave the blower running before, during and a little after I am under way. I noticed that the light on the switch wasn't illuminated and the fuse breaker under the switch was pushed out and stays out. Does anyone know where to start? I was going to check for power and all the normal stuff. Is there a main fuse I should be looking for? Hoping the blower motor, itself, isnt burned up already. Should be warranty but I dont want to have to drive 2-1/2 hours to the dealer for something so simple.

The breaker under the switch should be pushed in.

So is it not possible to push in (maybe broken) or does it pop out as soon as you turn it on?

If it's the latter, you're in for some electrical troubleshooting. But start by pushing that button in.

It pops out as soon as I switch it on. Hints why I'm thinking the motor may be bad already. I guess its time to get out the handy Fluke Meter and get to work.

If there's a place where the wiring plugs into the motor, try disconnecting it and see if you can get the breaker to stay in when you flip the switch on. Would at least help rule out wiring up to the motor.

I had two breakers go on my 2014 SX190, replaced with similar 5amp ones from West Marine, all was good.
There's also no need to leave your blower on while under way

Appears to be the breaker for the motor. Where is a website to buy the exact ones to match Yamaha?

you can try another circuit breaker...but I doubt that it will be that. It trips for a reason. Try this, remove the blower, it is easy enough to do, disconnect the leads and try to power it directly off the battery for a short 10 seconds. You can even install a fuse if you like to see if the resistance is going to continue to blow it. But testing the amp draw would be the first thing after seeing if it is not running. You can probably even see if it turns freely with it removed. It is an electric motor, so the motor will not spin like a pinwheel, it will spin like magnets crossing on and off of resistance. If it is frozen or plugged up, you probably need a new one. But you could have a short to ground that is tripping the breaker too. Not a hard fix, but will take a little troubleshooting. I think the easiest after seeing it continue to trip the breaker, is to remove the hose above and below, remove the connection, remove the fan, and test directly to the battery. If it works, then you need to suspect a wiring issue, if it doesn't, easy fix...just take the blower to the dealer and have them hand you another one!

It might be possible to swap the wiring from another breaker on the dash to diagnose.

I had both breakers go bad in my 2014 AR210. Similar problems have occurred on other recent model boats as discussed on the "other" site.
I replaced them with these:

They are still working.

Both breakers for my blowers on my 2014 212X failed. I replaced them with new ones I ordered from Yamaha. Interesting as they were totally different model from Carlon, but same rating as the originals . The new ones were double the size and quite a bit heavier. Looks like Yamaha did an engineering change or something...

I agree with Mel, it is way more likely for the wiring or blower motor to be bad than the breaker. It is likely doing what it is supposed to do and tripping due to high current. Best bet is to take the blower motor out and check for a short.

I swapped a breaker and ran the motor for over an hour, just to see if there was a problem over time. Seems to be a faulty breaker. Cheaper than a motor!

I don't have the push button breaker under my switch for the blowers where would the Breakers be for my 2014 212 SS?

My guess is that you have the same rubber boot, that is protecting the circuit breaker, and it is under or beside your switch for the blower(s). They may have gone to two switches at some point, but on my 2012, it is a single switch, and the rubber boot covers the circuit breaker below it. I have read that some new boats have a CB panel but if you have that, they would be there...I personally haven't seen a boat like this. @Julian , you saw the new boats, do they have a CB panel or still individual circuit breakers for switches?

There are two circuit breakers next to the switch I guess those are for the individual blowers on my boat since I have 2 motors... I have done a little bit of research now and found that a lot of people with my year boat have bad circuit breakers so I guess that'll be my next step .

@chris24 , before you buy circuit breakers, just get a length of 12 gauge wire, romex will do for a test lead. Hook the positive and ground to the blower wiring, and then direct to the battery. It will tell you if the blower is good or bad. If it is good, it is in the wiring, ground, or circuit breaker. It could very well be breakers, but it still is less likely, even if that year model had issues with them. Keep us posted!

Thanks for everybody's posting on this issue with my circuit breakers. I have now disassembled my dash and replaced both circuit breakers with 5amp ones cost me $6 each. both blowers are working again .thanks again for everybody's assistance and input.

Sorry for digging this out of the grave. I have a 2013 SX 190 and the blower amp is pushed out and stays out. New Amp is required more than likely ya? Seems to be the only issue. All other electricals working fine.

The breaker buttons are not a strongpoint and are far from uniform installed depth or quality, but far less irritating than finding and replacing a blown fuse. Would not be surprised if there was some corrosion in the 5 cent breaker.

Sometimes I use a pen to jam the cig light outlet / radio one back in place.
