The previous owner did the ribbon delete and K&N filter. I recently discovered that this breather tube is just hanging loose in the engine bay. It is open on the end with what appears to be a fitting that would have attached it to the stock airbox. Should this breather be left open, any other concerns?IMG_4649.jpeg

What was the answer? Inquiring minds want to know.

Thanks!

The biggest concern I have is how low the air filter now is now to the bilge area. I’d use a couple of 90* elbows and raise it up higher. Did you get the OEM air box? If you did you can put that back in and get the snorkel height back and get a RIVA K&N style air filter to achieve the low resistance.

Not having the PCV hooked up to the intake does take away some heat from the intake air but how much affect that has on the amount of fuel being delivered to the engine is unknown. The problem with open PCV hoses is the oil smell and ensuing oil layer on everything in the engine bay.

As I have said a couple of times; the boat has run this way for years the engine bay is clean and dry with no oil mist on anything or any oily smell.
As far as being low the intake is about a foot off the bottom where the bilge pump is.
