Does anybody know aftermarket part number for a 190 FSH steering rack

I've been lookin for this also. I'm going on my 3rd steering cable in 2 years. The cable is made by teleflex/seastar/dometic specifically for the FSH and only sold through Yamaha dealers. It's $330 on partzilla.

What makes the steering cable for FSH different then any other of their products?

The rack housing is shorter and may be unique to the FSH. Where the helm is located makes it a tight fit. The cable goes through the transom and the aft end of the cable is a threaded rod which may also be unusual. I don’t know exactly. I don’t know what all the other products look like.

I talked to the manufacturer of the cable he told me to grease the hell out of the cable pack it in the end. And if anybody looking for the best tool o2 sensor tool from advance auto 15 bucks I think it's 7/8 / 22 mm

Oh happy day ... my steering got gorilla hard to steer. Dealer wants $500 for the cable and unsure how much the labor is. I’ve seen some makeshift greasing options, has anyone tried the grease option? I have a whopping 50 hours on it and am a crazy boat wash/rinse psycho after every use. Love the boat otherwise! Thanks!

Have any FSH owners looked carefully at the steering cables in their boat to see if there is a Teleflex part number on it? I can't imagine they made a "special" one off for the FSH - the cable ends will all be the same.....(for sure at the gate/nozzle end).

@Bruce has a thread with a bunch of cable info - and they are all teleflex/seastar cables. I would like to make sure we aren't all buying Yamaha parts that are often triple the price of the original manufacturer!

I believe this is the OEM product. SeaStar Solutions

Someone needs to pull one out and measure to find out the length.

Regarding the lubrication question, that's only temporary and sometimes has little result. The cable rusts and becomes damaged, often in the bilge to the point where no lubrication will rejuvenate.
