Hi helpers,

About to pull the trigger soon an a 255 or 285, how does the brown interior perform in the sun?

I assume it gets crazy hot?

Even the orange on my Sea Doo 230 gets to hot to sit on..

Thanks, Patrick

Leonard Marist (Scarab dealer owner) says it is a special fabric that supposedly doesn't get hot in the sun. I've never sat on the stuff, but I HAVE sat on the black headrests on my 242X and they get insanely hot! I had the same concerns, so hopefully a Scarab owner from the south will give you their unfiltered opinion! (and I'm curious to hear the answer)

Here in Florida- 255 Open ID
Seats get super hot, they are cooler when under way. We have a spray bottle on board that we spray the seats down with fresh water with. Honest response is I would love to have lighter colored seats

Thanks for the honest words!

As to be expected...

Seats and cushions that don't get hot in the sun would be a huge selling point to the Admiral, if they existed. She wouldn't be worried about much else in the boat, tbh.

Funny I was wondering the same thing and almost started a thread on this subject (I’m looking hard at Scarab and really like the brown seats/wish they still had the beige/white choice from a couple of years ago).

So seeing the responses, really interested to know what final decision you make.....

Also, I’ve always liked the Seadoo 210/230’s what year is yours and what engines do you have?

Since we will go for the hardtop there should always be a cool seat to find. We will go for the brown. It just looks to good.

Our 230 is a 2013, i was told from the dealer it was the last 230 to drop off the line.

It came with the 215hp engines, we upgraded them to 260hp, added intercoolers, changed injectors, software and impellers.

Love it, but it's time to move one up.

...and i was just told that 2021 Scarab will have a black !!! interior option. The fabric is called "cool touch" - but i dont want to be the first one to get it

Prettiest boats in the class! Saw a 210 on the water, a few weeks ago. I miss ‘em.

Let me know if you end up upgrading, id love to take that 230 off your hands ;)?

I have a white interior in my 180SE and after a few hours in the water while shes anchored in the sun, the seats are incredibly hot.. friend of mine has a 215 RXT that he'll bring out and tie off to us sometimes. The RXT has full black seats and after a few hours in the sun, i cant tell the difference between my white and his black.. I feel it just gets to a point where while one might be hotter than the other, its too hot to notice.

That being said, i do feel the black would get hotter more quickly, but after an hour or so, they're both probably around the same temperature..

Next boat: Cool to Touch for sure!
