Youtube and the interwebs has not provided me anything so i turn to the experts here.

I'm looking to add a brush guard or bull bar to my truck. It interferes with the center 2 (of 4) proximity parking sensors on the bumper that would make it chime all the time. It can be defeated each time you start the truck (no fun). I'm looking to eliminate or jumper the sensors so the balance continue to work.

Anyone familiar with these mechanisms ?

Have you tried to find the back of them and see if you can simply unplug them?

that's a tonight project review. things are so damn interconnected on this machines now I was hoping for a heads up before I do something that makes it go south and pollutes my dash with some full screen warning.

Yeah...it might be a choice of warnings.....but those proximity ones are loud and annoying (on my Audi I can change the volume for them...no way to programatically turn 2 off).

I'm going to guess if you disconnect 2 you will get another error...but hopefully not a constant beep, and hopefully the other 2 sensors will still work....

Option 1: Extend the wiring and mount to the push bar maintaing collision warning features.

Option 2: Disconnect and if it throws up a warning, measure the resistance of one that is not blocked and bridge the connections with a resistor of that rating.

The sensors on the back of my truck are daisy chained together. I had to bypass one when the mount and one of the leads to it broke, pretty simple, just cut the leads to and from the sensor and reconnect the leads to eachother. So Maniah's option 2.

They may be fused separately. You may also check with a dealer or autobody mechanic as they deal with them all the time.
