Update on Victron IP67 chargers.
Firstly the price the has dropped from $210 to $177.
When I bought these IP67 chargers through Battle Born, they waked me through the settings that they wanted to see. Once the first charger was set up, the BB tech showed me how to copy the settings and then paste them into the two remaining chargers.
So, just recently I went into a screen on the charger menu via Bluetooth where in I could see the whole charge profile from all of the charges I have done, the time to complete the average charge was 10.5 hours(???). When I tapped on the graph a pop up showed a breakdown of how long each phase of charging was taking, the bulk charge was as expected at roughly 3.5 hours, but the absorption was 8 hours, each and every time. I had read some time ago that the LFP batteries only need about 30 mins of absorption time, as opposed to a lead acid battery that will truly need the 8 hour absorption time to finish the charge without boiling the electrolyte after the bulk cycle takes them to 80% of charge.
I called Battle Born and told this to the tech and he told me that yes the LFP batteries only need 30 mins but to set the length of the absorption time to one hour. I’m expecting the the whole charge cycle to now be 3-5 hours depending on the depth of discharge, 50–80%, on the batteries.

These chargers have now proven themselves to be the top shelf chargers that I had thought they were before I bought them. I’ll be adding two more of these IP67’s, one for my house and another for the AGM start battery, these will replace the two bank MinnKota that I installed after I got my boat. The Minnkota set to AGM (my charger was pre Li charge profile) has been working for my house LFP battery, but I’m not happy with its performance, takes too long at a 10A charge rate, and with the built in 8 hour absorption cycle it is taking roughly 7 hours longer than it ought to, and, I cannot set the charge profile the way that BB wants it set, and I cannot see where the MinnKota is in its charge cycle. I have two MinnKota chargers, a three bank 10A per bank and the two bank, those chargers will go back in the boat along with some new inexpensive flooded lead acid batteries when and if I ever upgrade to another boat. As a fyi, these Victron IP67 chargers can be set up for any battery chemistry and have several features not found on other chargers.
