My cable had the wires pulled out of the connector from someone that borrowed it . Three wires black red and white what is the location ? looking at it with the release on the top 2 pins on the top one on the bottom. If someone can look at there cable and let me know
 
I can give you a picture of mine but it won't be until later tonight,

Where did you get your's from? It could be that aftermarket units are made with different colors ( I have a OEM version)
 
Mine was after market... good question purchased from an Ebay vendor
 
Place terminal connectors onto wires # 4, 7 and 16 on the ODB female connector. Wire #4 is the ground wire that slides onto the pin that has the black wire, wire #7 goes to the striped wire, and wire #16 goes to the red wire. Just to be sure though, I would use a multimeter to make sure you have 12 volts on the wire that you connect the #16 wire to.
