Just wondering if everyone has inboards on this forum.

I recall seeing a couple of folks posting about jet outboards....so yes....the majority have inboards for sure...but we welcome all kinds!!!

Was there something you seek?

I moved a few years ago, and now the lake I boat on is filled with hydrilla. Unfortunately, with twin inboard motors, I am CONSTANTLY having to stop and clear them out. I LOVE my boat, it's a 1997 Yamaha Exciter, but it's becoming a nuisance. And now practically impossible to pull a skier, tube or wakeboard. If they fall in the weeds it's a problem. I was hoping to get some feedback on putting an outboard motor on the boat so we can enjoy the lake. Thoughts?

That's what I meant, does anyone have info. on putting an outboard with a prop on a 1997 Yamaha exciter. I have powerful jet drive engines already, but the weeds are killing all the fun of it. Thought if I could put an engine with a prop on the back somehow, I could enjoy the lake again.

I appreciate the advice! And just looked into engines as well, definitely not worth the money and effort. :(. Guess I'll just have to continue unclogging, and enjoy the lake by kayak and SUP as well. Thanks again for the quick feedback.

Or sell your boat and switch to a non-jet boat.....(I know....sacrilege)...but Jet boats aren't perfect for all locations....especially really weedy lakes

Considering that as an option. :( or hoping somehow, someway that the hydrilla disappears. I have a route I can fly by, but god forbid I dare slow down on the way in or out.
I'm also thinking of maybe a little trolling motor on the front to get through the weedy areas if need be. Any thoughts on that?

Reach out to the county. Water management may be able to stock some grass eating carp. Or just get another boat. Sorry your having trouble.
