Engine hours not reading correctly? Can't quite tell

I picked up a 275SE with 18 hours on it, but after using it a few times the engine hours now read 5.4 and 5.8.

Are those numbers able to be changed? Would they have been reset somehow? I'm totally stumped how it could somehow one day have fewer hours all of a sudden.

In the connext screen there are two sets of engine hour readings, one is the total engine hours and is not resettable through the screen, the other is the maintenance minder section and can be reset. Are the 5.4 & 5.8 readings on both of those screens?
