Hi All,
Just picked up my first boat ever, a yamaha sx210, can't wait to get it out on the water (plan on doing so tomorrow) and break it in. Looking forward to learning about jet boats and boating in general from this Forum.

Congrats on the new boat. Happy for you that you live in a part of the country (?) where break-in and boating in general are still an option in early December.

Sorry, but without pictures it didn't happen! ;) :D

Seriously, though, congratulations on the new boat!

Live in Florida, south of Tampa was a great first day on the water! Had a few first time boater issues but all.went fairly well. Trying to get her into the marina slip.was a bit challenging I will admit. Going to take a lot of practice.

Congrats, looks great. Now is a perfect time to practice and get used to it, ramps are mostly empty and boat traffic is minor.

Good Looking Boat.

Getting in and out of the water was and still is my biggest challenge after 4 years and I have memorized three cliches: "Slow is Pro", "Don't Go Any Faster Than You Are Willing To Hit Something" and when coming in "Neutral Is Your Friend".

As stated above by FX195 practice during the down times...it will pay off. It did for me.

You will find getting in to the water is probably the easiest and the hardest is coming in and getting cleanly up to the dock. It was that way for all of us.

Backing up the trailer is also a learned skill and becomes really important at crowded ramps.

Congratulations on the new boat too!

Very excited for you! Great place to be! Lots of great folks here and are willing to share their knowledge. Don’t feel like you can’t ask a ”duh” question. I know I have and have been giving great feedback. Stay safe out there and learn, learn, learn!
