Decided to finally fix this. All I needed was a small piano hinge. The one that I’ve ordered was about 18 inches long. I cut an 8 inch piece off and that’s all that’s needed. Added a couple of starboard pieces and can stand on it….way easier to access the anchor.

Great job on that! I don't ever use my anchor, but I still love that mod. Definitely added to my "someday" list.
 
Excellent job!

Just did the same with mine a couple of weeks ago. It is amazing how roomy it feels and I’m sure this mod will make using the anchor so much easier.
 
How's the hinge holding up? Did you buy it locally? I'm looking for something but not finding it, any suggestions? Thanks!
