This is with progressive, my old '15 192 sx was ~$600

I just got a quote of ~$1800 for the 24'!

I removed medSomething, which was going to give me a few thousand if I got hurt and I upped the deductible to $1000, that brought my annual bill down to ~$1200

Just a reminder that this boat is a bit more expensive....

I'm at $730 for my 242X with full replacement value with State Farm.

I guess I should no longer think my $330 per Year with $500 Deductible for a 2015 212X is expensive!

Try Boat US.

I paying $488 agreed value for my 2016 AR 240

Sounds like a good deal. But don't forget...it all depends on so many factors! The further north you go...the cheaper it gets as the boating season is shorter, so less time to get into trouble. My State Farm policy includes coverage for the Bahamas, which many do not. And each boat is worth more/less depending on the model. Inland boating is safer than ocean or great lakes boating....so that is cheaper too.

I do agree and understand. But when You go thru Boatus which Geico is the insurer, they don't ask where you are taking the boat tho. I have $50k agreed value and that's my rate. As only as I'm US coast guard safety secured, they will cover. I used to be a commercial insurance adjuster, so have little background with this. Don't matter of boat model. They cover either 21' or 24' ect. Just tell them what you need. :)

I pay $450 a year 2017 ar240. I am with State Farm. With boat prices going up a couple thousand dollars every year I have my policy setup for $60,000. I also have a $500 deductible

I need to shop around, those number are way cheaper than what I was quoted!

Do you guys add the tow service? I am thinking I might, even though its a new boat.

Farmers....$279 annually, agreed upon value $55k and $500 Deductible...

I was with boat US/Gieco and they were low 300's but decided to bring everything in under one roof with my other policies and Farmers

Going to be difficult to compare rates between each of us without knowing coverages & deductibles. I can tell you when I used the same coverage setup for quotes with several insurance companies (Progressive/USAA, Boat US, Geico, and few others) that Geico was much cheaper.

2005 yamaha sx230 ho is $1038 a year with state farm. $1000 deductible. Boat us quoted me $777 a year for ACV. Didn't like the idea.

I still don't understand why Progressive/USAA is so expensive for jet boats.

I paid $345 on my '09 232 Limited S. When I just did a quote on the new 242x, the premium went up to about $450. This was for agreed-value on both, as well as an increase in medical payments. I though that an extra $100/year wasn't bad considering the agreed value practically doubled from one boat to the next.

When I first bought the 232 in 2012 I checked with State Farm who I've insured everything else with for decades and their prices were 2-3x more for less coverage. The only thing I have to do is send them a copy of my marine declarations page.

As a side note, I'd also recommend speaking to your main agent about a blanket liability policy. When we got the boat, we added a $1M policy for about $100/month. We figured it's just good practice to have it...just in case.

After the bimini trip I think I'm going to have to get a quote from Farmers on the house, cars, boat and umbrella policy! So you happen to know if Farmers covers the bahamas?

$330 a year with Nationwide. 500 deductible, 60k coverage.

Some companies have that already built in for in water. With Boat US you can pay for their annual membership and this would be included.
