Intermediate bearing Grease seal question

Had service done at the dealer, it appears they overfilled the intermediate bearing grease. My question is on a 2022 252SE does this 100% mean that the seal is popped? Or is there an overfill relief valve or something like that?

My second question is what exactly needs to be replaced in order to fix it? What should I ask the dealer to replace? Are they going to have to pull the whole pump and engine out?

Take it right back to the dealer and get them to replace both of them.

Yes pumps need to be pulled, they should be able to move the engines forward to get the intermediate bearing housings out.

It needs to be replaced make them fix it and read my many posts about adding gear lube rather than pumping grease in them

What if there is no visible leak or water coming in? I spent about 15 hours on the water and did not observe any water intrusion. Is it possible for grease to leak through but not compromise the seal?

Well, I feel a little better, I was a bit worried because it’s been a few weeks since I had the service. Even though I noticed a little bit of grease when I first picked it up, I had no idea that it was a big problem, I thought it was just like overfilling a bearing buddy on your trailer, lol.

So I was afraid the dealer was going to deny responsibility.

I felt better because the service advisor apologized for the inconvenience of having to bring the boat up again and acknowledged that it was probably overfilled. He said even he had personally overfilled one on a jet ski in the past.

So now, at least I know they’re going to make it right.
