I havae the maual to the factory GPS and it does not explain much. It does not mention uploading files but I have been told the unit can do this. Any ideas?

Everything I’ve read indicates a closed stand alone system on the oem gps.

Your best bet would be to get a quality MFD (Garmin, Humminbird, Lowrance) with maps of your lakes so you can mark the stumps.

Thanks .. unfortunate because the display is worthy.

Thanks .. it shows some of the stumps in my lake but it is missing many

After boating with my Solix for the last four years I cannot imagine boating without the 2D fish finder, down imaging and side imaging, these views allow you to see what’s under the boat / on the bottom and allows you to place waypoints on the screen to mark underwater hazards like stumps and such.
