I can not get the plugs to latch after cleaning out the jet pump. Any suggestions on how to get them to latch?

It is possible that your plugs lower rings have swollen. Do you remove them after each outing? If not, you may need to rebuild them...there is a kit for this (off to find it...will post in a minute)

@helenbg I see that you are a new member, so forgive me if you are already aware, but the button on top of the plugs needs to be depressed when the plugs are seated in order to lock them in place. I put the plug in the hole, hold down on it with my palm while pushing the button with my thumb, and then press firmly into place. It's important to listen for the click sound that the plug makes and then give it a few good tugs to make sure it is seated properly.

If you knew that and were trying that when you were having trouble, disregard and rebuild the lower part of the plugs. They will seat like new.

I only push down on the T handle to lock the plugs. I use the button to release them. Make sure the plug is dropping ALL the way in the hole prior to pushing down on the T handle to lock them. The gray button on the plug needs to be facing the rear of the boat to allow the plug to drop all the way down. As previously mentioned you may have some build up inside the tube or on the plug that needs to be cleaned off or the two slots located half way down the tube at the 3 &9 o'clock positions may have some debris in them.

glad to have you on board,

How long have you owned your boat?
Do you regularly pull your plugs?
What type of trash did you have to clean out? weeds, branches, plastic bag??

I would agree with the above posts, do the plugs seem to work correctly outside of the cleanout, do you see the locks move when you push the handle down and release when you push the button?)
