Our kitchen lacked enough counterspace and the flow didn't work for me, so after many different floorplan layouts I came up with one I liked and the job is now complete.

Here is the original floorplan...the wall to the left of the "K" in kitchen is the wall that came out. The cabinets on that wall were relocated to the right side wall of the breakfast area (where we used to have a free standing hutch)

Peninsula will look a little like this, but not as pointed:

Here is a shot of the wall from inside the kitchen...those cabinets will be moved...

and here is a shot of the wall from the family room side:

This is what was on the wall where the cabinets were moved to:

And this is what it looks like with the cabinets moved:

We also had a movable recycling bin on the opposite wall (the toaster over was moving around the whole time) under the TV:

And we had a lower cabinet made with granite top:

And the final peninsula and lighting:

Bought some new bar stools to go around it....and it was all finished the DAY before my 50th birthday bash! There is a full pull out double trash drawer, and pull out drawers for posts and pans in the other cabinets with gentle glide closers. Overall, we are delighted with the results and the openness of the final result.
