First of all, it goes without saying that I’m fortunate to still have a job and by no means complaining

That being said, I’m a HS teacher in California and the school year has been officially canceled. I won’t be returning back to work until the end of August! However, I will be doing distance-learning until the second week of June. My nerdroom has officially been converted into my makeshift classroom.

Let’s see where other members are stuck doing their 9 to 5s while dreaming about using our boats sometime this summer.

My desk at home....

This has been me for the last 3 weeks. Last week my wife started working from home and I had to give up one monitor, but at least I kept my office.

Shelly is on week 4 of work from home. I'm starting my 3rd week. Brought this setup home from the office Friday before last so I could actually be productive here. Very thankful to have a fast connection into the house, large monitors, and plenty of processing power here. Machine is an i7-7700 with 24GbRAM, Quadro P2000. Does a pretty decent job for me. (3) 22in HD Monitors really helps lay out your work digitally when there are 101 things going on.

I'm being surprisingly productive at home. Expected a lot more interruptions and less ability to focus. I'm purposefully keeping the light out of the room to help with that. I tossed a cheap LED shop light into the trusses. I really like the cooler "reflective" lighting thing I have going on here. If this becomes more permanent, then I'll probably finish out the room and make a more dedicated space. Lose the folding table for certain, it's kinda "wobbly". This room is pretty cold, so I'll want to get some insulation on the walls as well.

I'm kind of curious what kind of work everyone is doing from home myself. I'm primarily doing mechanical engineering, design, and analysis on large industrial equipment. I'm also doing a fair amount of programming in Visual Studio for our custom in house quoting and design software.

@fvcoachv What desk chair is that? Do you like it? I've been debating on getting myself something nicer, just can't decide if I want to go traditional "office chair" or something more entertaining like what you have there.

Electrical engineering, there's no way I could do it with just a laptop screen. Dual monitors are a must, a 3rd is even better. Really like your setup there with the 3-monitor stand and the industrial-looking wall :D

I used to work full-time from home a few years ago, so have a decent setup. Going to suck when I need to start commuting again... I forgot how much I hate it.

I work from home full-time but travel 70% of it. Pretty fortunate to be an entrepreneur and have flexibility and in a relatively recession-proof industry.

Here's my setup. Very thankful that I BOUGHT tables for Katie's graduation instead of renting them as we're using all of them for work/school.

I'm accustomed to three of those big monitors. In the beginning I thought I'd have one last chance to sneak in to the office but they don't want us doing that unless it's an emergency. (The emergency almost became coffee and filters when this whole thing started but Chris managed to find some.) The monitor on the right was actually given to me several years ago by my mother who got it from a friend of hers. I think the friend was looking to "dump" it. As it turns out I've made a lot of use of it over the years.

So to answer other questions:
1) I would NEVER fool around on jetboaters during working hours. Clearly, what you see above is the result of a typo.
2) The board-game cabinet is absolutely no temptation at all.
3) The PS3 (just blocked by the top of the monitor) has NEVER been played during long, boring conference calls that I shouldn't have been in in the first place. (Always make sure you are on mute before yelling "Fus Ro Dah!")
4) I have NEVER noodled on my guitar while helping one of the guys go through code. (Guitar Pick on the edge of my laptop: <shrugs>)

After a couple of weeks, I'm finding this setup pretty comfortable to be honest. My only problem is when the family gets a little loud when I'm in a meeting. Of course right now that's happening to everyone so it's not a big deal.

@biglar155 That TP though... LMAO!!

Funny thing, that's actually paper towel! ? A family of 6 goes through a lot of BOTH!

Oh I hear ya... 2 teenage boys in this house! WHEW!?

Since I was non-essential before non-essential was cool, (my wife is the face of our company, I work in the background). This is my go to work space with or without the threat of Coronavirus.

Engine puller next to the washing machine next to the easy chair. Totally makes sense to me.

That's not a washer and dryer, it's a hood storage rack. :D

We got a larger capacity set when we moved in back in September. They still work well, and since I have a daughter moving out in next few years, it made sense to hang onto them rather than sell them.

My apologies @F.M. . :)
I see you are in Alabama. Do you air condition that space? Wait...don't answer that...I am already envious.

Haha, I see many of you are pros at working at home!

I'm a newb. And I pretty much hate it. And - I just moved...
New house, new job, trying to get a hang of what I'm doing, a few things at once...

With my family still in Saint Louis, some things will just need to wait...
