image.jpg image.jpg I was under the boat today checking stuff out....is this the missing sealant that causes cavitation?

I'm not experiencing bad cavitation, just noticed it missing along the sides and thought I might be losing out on a little cavitation.

i'm usually a fan of "if it I doesn't feel like something is wrong leave it alone!" If your not having any rumbling/vibration under load or loosing any top end speed I wouldn't worry about it. If you do have any symptoms it would be the first place to look at to solve the problem.

Mine looked kinda like that a few years ago so I dug out the part that had slipped inward and recaulked. I couldn't stand it LOL. But - yes sometimes I'd be better off leaving stuff alone ;)

Lets see your impellers.
You talkin to me?
image.jpg image.jpg They look better than I expected, I really need to get the hours read on the engines, the rest of the boat looks new, and to me these impellers look pretty good for an '09

I see a chip on the blade with the letter on it on the second pic, and a ding in the second pic at 6 o'clock

Looks pretty good from those pics. Those little dings shouldn't affect anything in the short term.

Have you watched the tachs while this cavitation is happening? Both drives? Describe you cavitation in more detail if you can...... When does it happen? For how long? Etc.

I don't really have a cavitation problem, I don't think I do anyway, boat runs fine. I just noticed the missing sealant and was wondering if that would affect performance.

All looks normal to me. Some of the boats with missing sealant had 1/4-1/2" deep crevices along some of the joints that caused cavitation. Your looks just fine.
