Hello, First time boater took the plunge today on a 2016 242 x e series. Never owned a watercraft before and have rented a few boats just to take the family out on. I decided this over a regal 2300. Hope I made a good decision. I did do a lot of research before I purchased so hoping this site will help me.

Day 1 boat owner issue.

1. Ladder rear of boat was left down while I was backing up. Wife and kids were in and out showing friends. I failed to check while backing in driveway bent it. I guess I will have to purchase a new one.

2. The other issue I had was while lowering my tower it came down hard on top of glass. I thought it was on some better hinge than what it was. I think it broke something in my folding windshield. Its sliding freely up and down. I decided to slide it all the way down and take it out to check it and a plastic piece and screw fell out. The plastic piece was in pieces. I have no idea what that is. Does any one know? Can I replace that or do I need to replace the whole center piece of glass. Im def gonna have to be more careful.

First day struggles!!!

Welcome to the site.... there is a wealth of knowledge here unlike anywhere else in the net.... u are gonna have little ... dang it... moments untill u learn... we all did. As far as the part that broke, a picture is required to really understand what we are talking about..

Glad you found us. We are here to help. You are adventurous taking the boat out for first time filled with family and friends. It will take some time practicing before you get real comfortable with it. Welcome.

Welcome!! :Welcome:
I'm sure some will have your answers shortly. That is a whole new boat but we have some very knowledgeable people here.

:Welcome:
We all get bite by excitement with a new boat. I too bent my ladder like you, but I was able to fix the track and extentions without replacing.

Go slow and enjoy. I always like to allow friends and family to "look" and then when I know enough I will "show".

With a new anything there is Just too much excitement and questions, then the next thing you know your ladder is bent and you go from excitement to :(

Also pictures say 100o words and will earn you trophy points on jetboaters.net :winkingthumbsup"

Congrats on the new boat and welcome to the forum!

Welcome aboard and congrats on the new boat! Those issues may be dealer issues, especially the windshield. You may be able to repair, but I would just send that ladder right back to Windline, claiming my mistake, and let them repair it. The good news is they will repair it like new and ship it right back to you, they are good people. The windshield needs more info to find a good fix if you want to tackle it. So the pictures will help. Again, welcome, and congrats!

I sent mine in under warranty repair, yes it is warranted! The bend is only a warranty item "if your weight while climbing caused the bend". Anyway, this gal was the sales manager at the time, you can try her email or phone.

Congrats with the purchase of your X. Great boat. You are the epitome of the old saying... you purchased your last boat first!!

As for the tower, this is one of the biggest reason I changed my tower out to a non e-series. Very cumbersome and heavy to fold. I am sure you will get the hang of it.

Again - Welcome and enjoy!

Ah Thanks... Yeah so far I'm loving it.. Still not really sure if its louder than some of the stern drive boats I have ridden in, Sure does seem that way. maybe just a different tone... But so far 1 trip out and its super sweet. Cant wait for the weekend to really get it out and see what she can do.

:Welcome:. New boat struggles, we've all had them. As @txav8r said Windline is great. I called about plastic pugs and they send me a bunch free. While she had me on the line she told me if i ever broke my ladder to send it back, they'll repair it. She told me a few "boating" ladder stories and I hung up thinking thats the best customer service company I'll EVER deal with.

Ill be in Orlando Monday 4th through the week if you need a hand with anything. Plus Id love to see a new 2016 242 XE:winkingthumbsup"

Here is a picture of what fell out. Again issue is the folding windshield became loose and ai i was folding it over i noticed it started to slide down the track or joint that it swings on. I decided to let it slide all the way out and when I did a screw and a few broken pieces fell out of the track. I called dealer and they don't know. They are going to call me in the morning. Any idea what i did. It looks to me like a screw was screwed into the side of the track and some how went into this plastic piece. Im assuming the plastic piece kept the window from sliding up and down. I looked at the part menu and i couldn't find this part. Of course I have no idea exactly what it looks like either cause its broken. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you

Himmmm... can't help you with that based on that pic. Maybe add a pic of where it came out of the windshield as well..

Hey @Real Smoov! Welcome! I'm about 40 minutes north of you in Ormond. It'd be cool to meet up sometime and see how your 242X wakesurfs. What lake are you on?

Welcome and congrats on the new boat. Sounds like the guys have already pointed you in the right directions for your repairs.
