O-rings to help seal the clean-out plug(s) and prevent water from sliding past the plug. On my boat, I found that my plug was always full of water and may have been overflowing into the inspection tray. Thanks to @TeeNGee, who found that this O-ring could help better seal the plug and prevent water intrusion (Thread). Since installing this O-ring, my plugs are bone dry.

These aren’t super easy to find/buy so I bought them in bulk. I now have a BUNCH to move

$5 each, shipped to CONUS via USPS. You’ll need 1 per plug

In my opinion everyone who has the twist lock style clean out plugs and has any water in the clean out plug wells after running needs these O rings installed. So many people have water and or excessive water in their bilge that comes in through the clean out tray and the primary source for that water comes from water getting past the clean out plugs. A super simple solution to that water incursion problem.

Do you know which boat models use this size oring?

Where does the o ring go ? I went to install the Manhole cover rebuild kit but had ordered the wrong model they are designed differently . What I did notice while it was disassembled was that the 6 screws were loose that hold the seal to the base. After reassembly it didn't leak. Seal and base shown below there is a plastic ring that puts pressure on the seal that's the part that was loose. I didn't max out the rpm so more testing is needed but the port side always had more water then the starboard. After some cruising around for 20 minutes it was dry
