Rate your 2025 season

This thread is more for those of us that live in colder climates and usually send our boats off to storage in late September or early October but all should feel free to chime in.

Had the boat winterized and oil/plugs changed a couple of weeks ago and dropped her off at the storage place last weekend.

I’m usually ready for the season to end once we get into late September but the past two years have been different and I didn’t want the season to end.

I’m gonna give the 2025 season an A. We didn’t really have any weekends that were washouts and lots of nice sunny/warm days with manageable winds.

Put the dock in on May 1st, and then the rains came. Lake came up over four feet, and stayed there. Flooding kept us from retrieving and repairing the dock until June 30th. Put the boat in the water and the steering cable broke four minutes later. Literally, four minutes later. Part took four weeks to ship and get installed, so boat went in on July 27th. Pulled the boat out on September 27th, just before we headed to Acadia for two weeks. Probably took it out on at least 40 of the 60 days it was in the water.

I'm giving it an A.

40 boating days is pretty stellar!

So far I’d give boating season 2025 an A. I’ve got 30 boating days in, of those were some long distance trips, Lake Mohave at the beginning of of the season and WI Lake Poygan, Butte Des Morts, Winnebago, Green Bay and Lake Michigan ( write up coming at some point. Tonight it will be 25* here, but heading out fishing in the morning, high will be 67*, so warm clothes in the morning and T shirt weather in the afternoon, last week was false fall #4 I think. This next week will be a warming trend with Friday seeing a high of 70* IF the forecast holds. Unless Old Man Winter slams the door hard I’ve got a few more weeks here in South Dakota to fish and boat.
