My sons friends are bringing their Yetis on the boat now and they seem to clog up the cabin space. Leaving them on the swim deck seems like the best option but I have not really come up with a good way to secure them. Anyone have a simple plug and play method of doing this??

You could get a couple of these and strap the cooler down. A little pricy, but prevents any drilling.

Why not just loop some dock line through them and around the rear cleats/tow points?

Otherwise, tell them to leave their stupid yeti's at home. We use a soft cooler, put it in a couple of frozen bottles of water, and stick in within the passenger side helm area. Cooler stays in the shade and the frozen water keeps the beer nice and cold. IMHO, bringing a yeti cooler for a day trip on a boat is complete overkill.

Been through too many soft coolers in the past 10 years and they just dont last or have the capacity needed with my crew.

This is what we use and store it under the bench. Works great and plenty of room for beverages, food & ice without being too big.

Yeti's are wildly over-rated IMO. Even the other "off brands" are WAY more capability than you need for a day trip. Yeti's are bear proof and hold ice for days. You just need to keep things cold long enough to drink them. Coleman and Ozark are value brands that are setup well for day trips IMO. They're plenty durable if you do things like "place it" in the back of a truck and not "throw it" in there. I have Colemans that are decades old and still work great with no issues..........But, this is a completely different conversation :D :D

With that all that said.......I've had a couple Yeti's on my little 190. The largest was a 110 I think. Took up the ENTIRE rear swim platform upper deck. We didn't strap it down at all. It was so heavy we could barely pick it up with 1 guy on each end. Once it was on the rear deck, it didn't move unless we picked it up again. No-slip matte back there, and the shear weight of the thing kept it in place.

I HIGHLY recommend finding a place to store coolers (and sizing them appropriately) to fit into existing storage areas. I got two new coolers for our 190, and they've been a game changer for us. Easy access to cool snacks and drinks. They hold enough drinks in one for a family of 4 for the day, plus the ice to keep them cool. The second can hold the food for the day that needs to stay cool. Between those two coolers the wife and I can drink ourselves stupid with alcohol from cans, and still have some left over.

I'm curious how many people, and how many coolers @Evil Sports is trying to stuff onto a 21SS? I'm not super familiar with that hull setup, so I can't comment directly on how/where to put coolers, but I can say it took us a couple seasons to really work it out and make it manageable.

I have a few Colemans in my backyard. Had a big party saturday - they can't handle 8-10 hours of direct sunlight. While I don't like the prices, the Yeti style coolers are far superior even for a single day on the boat, at least in the Florida sun. With that being said, I buy all my Yetis second hand (last one was brand new but got it $150 off because she won it as a price) and if I buy new I buy RTIC.

Also my rule of thumb is don't bring coolers unless you ask first. I hate having coolers all over the place and not being able to walk around. If its in the way, it doesn't come.

Yeah this was not about cooler brands, it was about keeping coolers on the swim platform securely.

Put a strap around it to the grab handle on the swimdeck or the tow point. If you've got that much weight in it it's not going anywhere.

Thanks man, Yes its got that much weight. You haven't been out with my son and his friends, 1 Yeti is barely enougho_O
