Whether you are a gun control proponent or not, this S is sad, just sad. 14 pre-teens are not going home after school today or ever again.

I took my youngest to Galveston for a graduation, we toured the Elissa, the official tall ship of Texas, it was in service for 96 years, i was surprised it was a steel hulled sailing ship, i thought it was wood hull

Then a 30 mile trip on the blue water highway to freeport and trip out to the end of the surfside jetty, took a couple good wave splashes out near the end, after her concussion 2 years ago this was great to see her happy and what we remembered

Saw a lot of this mowing in and around the Blueberries yesterday...

The "Gypsy moth catapillars" are back, or what ever politically correct name they call them now. We are ready for them this time.

While at a friends house for a BBQ I felt as if I were being watched every time I went to the bathroom.

Getting prepared for the next project (Who would have thought a new home could have so many projects!)

home insulation.jpeg

Have an unfinished 300 square foot room above the garage. Plan to insulated it for now, for storage, and maybe finish it next year. All the batt insulation is R-38 (except for 2 packages of R-21). The foam is 2" boards. Because of the local building boom, R-38 and foam board is about as rare as hens teeth, took me a couple of weeks to find. Also wouldn't have guessed it to be this pricey, here's about $2500 worth of insulation!

Dealer lost one of the cockpit cushions in the new boat, it is impossible to get a replacement (so spoiled with Yamaha Jet Boats! - just pull up a parts fiche and place the order!!! - not so much with any of those more custom low volume boats, it's a royal PIA).

After a while I found a possible replacement on GreatLakesSKipper off of a different boat but pretty close match, well except for a colored vinyl stripe... it wasn't expensive and a good fit otherwise, so I just decided to try to work with it.

Not my forte, but I cleaned it up pretty good with some vinyl magic restorers, and used vinyl paint to match the boat pattern.
Surprisingly... it might have worked. I have no idea how it will hold up long term, but for now - I'm very pleased with myself! lol

This is what I used. I cleaned the strip really well with acetone and used 4-5 thin coats over a week

Willow made a new set of Sunbrella cockpit cushions for the boat. And new covers for the stern perch seats too. Replacing the vinyl beige/white covers she made a couple of years ago.
