A quiet night at the marina. Friends stopped over for drinks after dinner with the dogs on board.

We are grilling at the marina, no not on the Naploeon gas grill, that is prohibited, but in the galley in the Ninja Foodie Grille. YUM!

Hanging out in the cabin as dinner is being made, very attentive.

Be safe out there. Keep your head on a swivel, don't drink and WEAR a life jacket.

Introduced my youngest who just turned 22 to Pete’ Dueling Piano Bar. When I suggested we go there, both daughters thought it sounded lame. Boy were they surprised. My youngest sang along to every song, had an ear to ear grin all night long, and performed the Macarena on stage with Dad!!8DB35A54-8B8B-4677-8D01-7E09F1CBC438.jpeg18B0BB59-D772-4191-836F-FAC8973956F8.jpeg3485313F-5176-4389-BF9A-A7146414621C.jpeg25525CBB-761D-4164-9EC3-708A9C8B1D19.jpeg

Kinda hard to see in the pic but we’ve got windy conditions at the hose to the point there are dust blows that stretch for miles. Drove through one yesterday and couldn’t see 30yds in front of me.

While working on the boat it feels like someone is rocking it making things so much more interesting. Can’t even have a beverage out in these conditions. A full can gets blown over if in the wind.

First day out under sail this season. Beautiful day out on the water that started off with a cool wind, but warmed to the mid 80's. Water temps at 51°F out on the Lake. Took the boat out for a shake down sail to check the rig to make sure I did not miss anything while recomissioning this Spring. Winds were 11 to 13 kts out of the South on the Lake and the outing was very peaceful listening to Hawaiian slack key guitar music. Everything worked and I had only one issue. I could not find the winch bit for my dewalt drill to raise the mainsail, so I went forward to the mast and hand hanked it up there. Ya, I still got it at 61! Lol Very enjoyable day, even docking went well. We met most of our slip neighbors this weekend as everybody was out or hangin at the docks.

The Admiral was working the mainsheet all day and she fealt 15° of heel was enough on the first day. And with that trim we managed 6.7 kts SOG in 11kts wind. This was a shot earlier in the day. Beating into the wind 30°s off the port bow. Not bad for that angle of attack.

Was a fun, productive day. After we tied up I installed snaps on the new Phifertex sun shades Willow made. The other ones were getting stained and straight bleach would not make them look new again.

They make a big difference in temperature inside the boat.

And then to round out the day and ground myself I went to the asparagus patch and fetched a side to go with the sirloin tips for dinner.

LOL, this is the type of post you get from a sailing farm boy.

Our day started with a few hours of fun with our friends on the lake,

IMG_8187.jpg

it ended with a tow in,
engines wouldn't start, luckily we only had to wait about 30 minutes for another boat to pass by and they eagerly wanted to help us,
only two miles from the nearest boat ramp so it wasn't big inconvenience to them,

Your daughter will have it diagnosed and fixed for you in no time!

Not much from Saturday. Snapped this one on Sunday afternoon. Older brother teaching the yougin how to pilot the RC boat! They're 10 and 4.

Shortly afterwards, wife wanted a selfie. This one came out the best. Google added the Blur, not sure if I like it this pronounced or not.

Then, I was able to get this one at my uncles newly installed pool on Monday. The little one HATES the camera. To get one with mom with him actually smiling is massively lucky timing.

@zipper Can that fabric be sewn with a regular sewing machine, or do you need something heavy duty like Willow has? I’ve wanted to make side shades like you had on the Yamaha.

She uses the Juki, but she said her Kenmore can sew thru 3 layers of Sunbrella and thinks a "regular" machine could do it, depending on the machine of course. It is not a dense material.
