A couple of days of rain and I am pulling taps from the trees so they can heal. Some pictures from the wet woods.

Vernal pool with wild high bush cranberries in the background on the pools edge.

A stone wall stacked 150+ years ago to designate the property boundary.

Then I found an old campfire ring near the wall. Good campsite on high ground.

When I turned around and looked at the bank, I saw it covered with wild blueberry bushes with fruit ripening. I let the bear have these.

Berries everywhere.

Anyway, I digress. Back to work.

EDIT:

Oh, and the partridge "Ruffles" is still hanging with me.

got the winch strap squared away. Snapped coming home this past weekend. We got creative, two tow straps and a triple knot on the old nylon helped us get home. Replacement was smooth and simple

Few days in the Rockies. View off my patio from Lion’s Head. Hit Breckinridge Brewery. Gonna hit New Belgium Brewery this weekend. 44842A69-2F23-4473-AB8A-7908989A8839.jpeg8399B0EB-F854-446F-B886-5574F2000BB1.jpeg

Picked up an adjustable basketball setup for $50. Kids & I installed it tonight & I made them help dig the hole, get tools, mix concrete & put everything away. They were happy to help because this will be the first summer at home every day and it’ll add to their things to do.

Here is a pic of the purse and wallet my wife bought on Friday while on a girls trip to NY. She texted me and said she couldn’t resist, $3,500 ($2,300 for the purse, $1,000 for the wallet, $200 tax).

I responded, “you are worth every F’ing penny and by the way, I have an Uber on the way to take me to checkout this out and probably buy it now.I talked the dealer down $2,000 but that was almost instantly spent on sales taxes, registration and other fees.

A friend picked up a new/used boat and wanted to get it painted. He brought it out to the house a few weeks ago for me to paint but between the wind & rain there’s been no chance to get to it until today at daybreak. Got the first coat on and the wind is picking up already. Hopefully it doesn’t get stronger otherwise it’ll have to wait for a second and third coat.

Walking around the woods this morning in an old pair of muck boots and I lost my sole. And then I thought "What would Buffet say?" Then the words just came, maybe they should not have, but here is an alternate “farmers” verse to Margaritaville…

…Blew out my flip flop,

Stepped on a flop top,

Dipped my heel, had to limp on back home…

Some people say that there is a bovine to blame, but I know, it’s my own damn fault.

The audience didn't seem to like it much, they just Moood me and shook their heads, Lol.

That is what happens when a guy doing farm work, would rather be sailing. He gets a little dinghy. ;)
