Deposit down and first in line for a 2024 222SE! Seeing as I'm 5 months (hopefully) away from actually taking possession of the boat, I figured I'd share what I have planned.

Overall I feel it will be an upgrade when compared to my last build.

This is amazing. What’s costing more, the mods or the boat! Kidding of course but this is quite the build.

Did you consider the 222SD?

Wholly $h1t that’s a floating boombox! Stereo system may cost more than the boat!

I did... but unfortunately California's emissions regulations prevent them from being sold here.

I think that you can save yourself a lot of room on your chargers by going with the Victron Energy IP67 chargers. They also produce a fraction of the heat of other chargers. You should be right at 12 amps on the 120 volt side for the stereo battery chargers.

Thanks for the tip. I already own all the chargers and batteries so I'm hesitant to switch out the set up. I'm already spending enough on the system =)

My mistake, I thought all that went with the old boat…

Yeah... parted out the majority of the boat sound system components with the exception of the battery system and one of the amps.

If I was in the market for new chargers I would definitely give the Victron a long hard look. I do plan on dropping in some high quality AGMs for the House/Start Battery and I am considering the North Star TPPLs (AGM Thin Plate). Do you know much about these and if so what would be the correct size for the house/starter?

Not a whole lot other than they are premium AGM batteries. Start is going to need to be 1000 CA / 800 CCA.

House is probably going to be 70 Ah.

100% coming across diminishing returns here. Cool in theory, but way overkill.

It’s not an investment, it’s something that makes us happy. Overkill is par for the course on all of our builds. Wouldn’t have it any other way.

I have thought about putting speakers on the lower transom of our 195s. My concern would be water getting to them when slowing down etc.
Do you worry about the the same with your proposed FA subs?

I do and I’m definitely taking a risk. I’m using the grill that covers the majority of the sub and I’m extending the warranty on the subs an additional two years for a total of four.

Thought just came to me, couldn't someone with 3D printing or other technology make a rubber cover like the 195s have on the head unit while running, then remove them when anchored?

I have 1 of the Northstar AGM TPPL's in my boat for my house and radio. I did a lot of research on them and they are fantastic. Of course I draw nothing close to what you are about to.

The sound system will be wired into its own bank of XS 3100's so the House and Starter will be normal draw. Good to hear about the Northstars!
