The main question I've got is whether or not I'm better off with 2 - 6.5" speakers and 2 - 8.8" speakers, or 4 - 8.8" speakers. I'm not going for loudest on the lake, not even remotely. I am going for quality of sound. A good mix. That said, I found a pretty decent deal on 8.8's to where I could get them for the same price or less than 6.5's. I should note, I'll also have a set of REV-10's on the tower. Would l I be lacking any highs with all 6 speakers on the larger end of the spectrum?

What I've got: Fusion Apollo RA-770 stereo that I just installed
What I've got but uninstalled: Two REV-10's for the tower
Looking to replace the four cabin speakers (currently 6.5") and add an amp to power all 6 speakers

The bigger woofers will do a much better job of bass reproduction. I don't think they will have much if any difference to your mid/highs - but that depends on the speaker. So if you have the room and the $ I'd go with 8.8s.

Fusion speakers, so they’d better be quality. Pretty certain I’ve got the space, should be able to just enlarge the factory cutouts. I still need to verify depth. I like bass. I like it a lot. But I don’t want it to drown out the treble.

Keep the factories at 6.5, just easier that way.

The REV10s will get so loud nothing else matters much.

Lol, they'll certainly have the capability to drown out the cabin speakers, but I'm not *necessarily* looking for that. There will be times where we crank it up decent, but most of the time, it'll be at conversation levels, where I want that "studio mix" kind of sound quality at a level you can still comfortably talk over. I'll have the tower speakers on one zone, and the cabin speakers on another zone, specifically so I can control their output to my preference. If you still think it's pointless to go bigger than 6.5's, please let me know, I do value your opinion....
