Guest, we are pleased to announce that Hydrophase Ridesteady is offering an extra $100 off for JETBOATERS.NET members on any Ridesteady for Yamaha Speed Control system purchased through March 7th, 2025. Ridesteady is a speed control system (“cruise control”) that uses GPS satellites or engine RPM to keep your boat at the set speed you choose. On twin engine boats, it will also automatically synchronize your engines.
Someone in our fishing group reported that they are all friends and not passengers, so not paying customers at least. However, they were also fellow charter captains; hence the scrutiny on the passengers. seems like for them, this would not be criminal, unless they helped maneuver the boat to get him aboard, but you mentioned you didn't see this. However, there could still be some type of administrative action from FWC or CG against their licenses if they didn't do anything to change the outcome or they encouraged it before or after.
A post I saw on Wayne’s Words regarding this incident …why am I wearing my shocked face about The Best Charter captains priors, 12 previous arrests for violence and dui’s, and those are just the incidents he was arrested for…
“So the people on his boat are all captains of their own charter boats. They have taken a huge hit as they have been outed. Most people in the industry know each other in their own hood. One is a local firefighter as well. Ok Captain Brock has 12 previous arrests on file including a number of violence and DUI, so not his first rodeo. Evidently @stolenvalor has weighed in on his claims of being a Ranger as false, and as to the combat veteran side they are saying he was an HR specialist. The agreed upon answer with my buddies here is that the kid should never have let him board the boat, and should have just picked up and left when he started ripping on him. That being said, I don’t think many would expect a boarding to happen, and he is a younger guy. The challenge would have been if the boarded boat captain shot the boarder. Yes, it would have been justified, but now you have a number of other guys 30 ft away that might decide their lives are in danger and start shooting back. Brock was weak and cowardly to pick on a lone person with a boat full of heavies. He is going to pay a serious price for that. I would guess with his priors the judge will not go easy on him. The other common thought is that the Coast Guard and FWC will probably charge him with other charges as well. And he will lose his captains license. Ramp and boat rage can be really bad down south and the best bet is to ignore and leave whenever possible. Hopefully this will be a lesson to other bad tempered folks to tone it down a bit and coexist”.
