The official "What did you do to your jet boat today" thread.

I would like to say I wish you hadn't posted a pic for this one, or at least changed the channel ;)
I get that, I researched that model as soon as I saw post yesterday. Looks nice.

Nicely done. Satellite radio is a must on our boats. I don’t even bother with AM/FM any more
Indeed. I literally only have those three stations to pick from for music: rock, country, or oldies . I will attempt to Bluetooth the XM off the phone app, as it’s free and has more selections, but the reality is I have extremely poor to no signal in most places. I see an SVX300 in my future.

Officially can call the 3d printed switch panel done - got a custom "no wake mode" sticker on there lol.IMG_2834.jpg

You can buy a SiriusXM portable receiver, and a an antenna and you’re good to go

Today I did the aforementioned stainless steel scupper replacement on my 08 AR230. When we bought the boat over 2 years ago I actually requested the marina we bought it from replace it with the stainless one. Well it didn’t “fit” and I guess their guys didn’t have any problem solving ability and decided to throw a new plastic one in there. But they didn’t make me pay for the labor or parts due to them not calling me or anything.

Today I found out they didn’t seal it very well. A very small ring on the back and very little on the nut. To be honest I’d say they used regular caulk and not 4200. It was very easy to break free, no exertion at all. There was actually sitting water below the scupper which was probably the culprit for why our bilge would run ever so often. Below is the finished product. Used 5200 and told the Wife at least we will only do this once!

I also changed the starboard gate cable today which wasn’t terrible at all, thanks to the how to in the FAQ. Below is a pic of the old one, which we are very lucky it didn’t bust on us during the season last year. Safe to say this bad cable was definitely the reason the Wife struggled moving that gate!

And lastly, I put some star-board on to get my transducer lower since it wasn’t working last season. Used two screws and 5200 on the back of it. It isn’t the prettiest job but it’ll do.

It’s funny how you have a plan to do so many things when you have a day off and kid free day. And then things just take a little more time lol. So the next day I have off I will do some soundproofing, run the boat to burn off the fogging oil, change spark plugs, Wash/buff/wax, and wipe down the interior with the UV protectant.

Until next time jetboaters,

Not really a "what did you do to your jet boat today" topic but kinda related.

I bought a TRAX TX6000 powered dolly and it was delivered yesterday:

The three 12v batteries are shipped separately and they arrive today so I'll get it set up tomorrow so I can try it out this weekend.

Doing in/out service this year (instead of drystack) where my boat will be on the trailer inside of a warehouse and the dolly will make getting it in/out of the parking spot much easier. Will use it to get the boat/trailer to the entrance to the warehouse and then pull it to the ramp with my Tahoe.

There was a thread here somewhere where a member had one and was maneuvering his AR240 into his garage and it worked great. It's a bit pricey when you add the batteries/charger/shipping but it should make for a more relaxing experience - especially for the Admiral. :)

I’m in the process of installing Marine Mat inside my anchor locker. Custom made by JBP. I’ll let you know how it turns out.

Last weekend I changed the oil, checked the spark plugs, and installed a Wetsounds head unit and transom remote.

Saturday looks like oil change and tire rotation on the truck along with greasing the hub bearings on the boat trailer and lubing steering cable and all plug gaskets.

Still need to get some 5200 and seal/clean up the intake, but that will probably be another weekend. Hoping to get the boat wet on Sunday this weekend.

You do realize you may never want to meet up with me this year after seeing this, right? ;) ?

When you bring the missus over, and I teach her how to back my boat down the launch, you're gonna hafta give me your man card! ;)?

Wait, what’s a man card? :-)

I’ll only be using it inside the warehouse - I’ll be using my tow vehicle to/from the boat ramp. My parking space Is towards the back and the TX6000 will make it much easier to maneuver.
