The official "What did you do to your jet boat today" thread.

Finished the installation of a VHF Marine Radio today. Running antenna cable and trying to hide it is a challenge. I wanted the Shakespear 4’ antenna up on the tower without getting in the way. I hated drilling a hole in the side of the boat (last photo) but it’s the only way I could get the cable into the hull from the tower and still get the towing cover on.

Looks fantastic!

I spent my afternoon pulling both pumps and doing a full inspection on the impellers, wear rings and cones. Cones have the original grease in them and although the looked OK, the smallest but of moisture had turn the top of some areas white. Bearings look and feel good, so I am going to clean and either repack them and do the oil bath/grease slurry many have talked about.

Also pulled the batteries for a load test tomorrow. They are group 24s and are originally from 2013, so I'm pretty sure they are going to get replaced with new group 31s.

Next up is steering and reverse cables and wiring for the new amps. Also was going to do the DVSR mods so my two bank charger will properly charge my batteries, but the DVSR will need to be replaced with a newer model that supports storage mode.

One more mod done

4” Fit perfect. No banging required to widen the center.

Also, washed the new dock/fender lines and hung to dry. Didn’t know this was necessary, till they started bleeding blue yesterday in the rain.

The dirty engine bay in my new to me AR230 was eating at my soul so bad that I decided to stop at the storage place and clean it on my way home from work. :)

Just got around to reinstalling my airboxes with the new flame arrestor filters, and changed the spark plugs.

Work slows down next week, so if the weather will cooperate, I'll finally get to put it in the water. :):)

Now if I can only get the wife to wash it so I don't have to. :D:D

Really enjoying our new lake life. Spent our anniversary on the lake with a few friends. Water temp was only 65, but once everything went numb we had a great time. Drilled the first holes, and got the battery charger installed. Also, got rid of all the stickers on the back in preparation for the boat naming. We've only had the boat for a week now, but I think we're addicted.20180416_125928.jpg 20180416_175946.jpg 20180417_170608.jpg 20180417_172501.jpg 20180417_141058.jpg

@Wanderer Beautiful boat. Addiction to jet boating is common. So far that’s the one problem I have yet to find a solution for on this forum.

It was a great day in SC for oil and spark plugs changes on the water. Ready for Hilton Head!

Funny, I just did the toilet install in mine, too. Strictly for emergencies, of course!

I used velcro strips to hold it in place, any other/better ideas?

Checking off the first mod. on the short list of spring mods. Tow point light install.
Drilled and tapped the tow point screw to accept the mounting screw for the light.20180422_161932.jpg20180422_162105.jpg

Lol they are from a kit I bought to tie wires out of the way. I had them laying around and had the screws to AND that stupid shelf was sitting in a closet for 10 years waiting for me to hang it somewhere. So I actually had all of the stuff I needed and didn't spend any money on it! Winning!

Got the pups out on the water for the first time. The lily pad was definitely not as relaxing for them as it is for humans. Once we found a little beach for them to go to we all had a much better time.

Not necessarily what I did "to" as much as what I did "for". . . . Re set my docks after the spring thaw unfroze my lake, and added a drive on jetski dock for the other jet new to the family.
