The official "What did you do to your jet boat today" thread.

Upgraded the stereo again. Added a second pair of JL tower. Now the 4 tower speakers run off their own 4 channel amp with separate volume control so they can be cranked for boarders to hear. Also added 2 additional 6.5" speakers mid ship. Thru this experience I have reached a new level of intimacy with my boat. I've become familiar with it's many hidden gaps and crevices.

I expect you to be named by your boat in a #metoo* Tweet any day now.

* - For those of you over 40, this is read "hashtag me too" - not "pound me too."

It was totally consensual... I think... maybe? Although if anyone has suffered emotional trauma after the ordeal it was me.

Big houseboat trip to Lake Powell (AZ/UT) Memorial Day week, so I put a few final touches on the boat.
- Added Plug Locks from Cobra (literally took 5 minutes)
- Adjusted the throttle cables to full stop at WOT.
- Installed 12 volt lighter plug at the back of boat for airing up inflatables.
- Put on foam float tubes on the windsheild for a several hundred mile trip with the cover on.
- Installed LED MR16 docking lights. (No more radio cutting out when turning on the lights)
- Tested all electrical stuff and found the POS horn is dead. Found the Aqua Signal replacement on Amazon.

Can you send a pic of where you installed the 12 volt plug in the back? That sounds like a great idea I need to do.

Not really for my boat but it will certainly be on the boat when in use...

Our plastic vendor came in today for a visit and brought me an extra large Artic Ice cooler pack. Our vendor manufactures the entire pack for the Artic Ice company. They also do some similar stuff for Yeti as well. You put them in the freezer and it will keep your drinks cold in the cooler for days based on reviews! I thought it was a cool gift ... (yes I'll see myself out with that corny pun :D)

I completed installing a front hitch on a vehicle that won’t be used to tow the boat with. Why? so I can push the boat into its parking spot at home while I’m looking at it instead of over my shoulder or via a reverse camera monitor.

The instructions were great and stated install by a pro is expected to take 30 minutes, by a rookie 60 minutes. By me close to 3 hours. Long story but the last of 4 eom bolts that had to come out seemed to be welded in place. I cracked two sockets, tried box wrenches, pipe wrenches, vise grips, a saw zaw, even a dremel with a cut off wheel. Fortunately my next door neighbor got home just as I was swearing out loud. He’s a retired mechanic and ended up taking air powered wrench to it, which didn’t work, before killing it with a 4” cutoff wheel followed by a grinder. Yeah, he is on my Christmas list and has been for years.

On a related note the hitch came in a box in a box. the first two front hitched I bought from etrailer for previously owned vehicles came without any boxes, just the hardware (nuts, bolts, etc.) which was just taped to the hitch in a bag along with the shipping docs.

Installed racks today. I ended up getting Monster Tower with 1-7/8 brackets thanks to a few people in this forum!

Bah, lost my post going from wifi to not and then to another wifi...
New cover! Straps weren't my ideal but i told him i wanted to be able to tow to florida without sweating about it so he didn't want to do snaps and i didn't want them where he would have put them. Much thicker material than my oem cover and the snap on cover.

I think you will like those! I use mine for anything, wakeboards, surf boards, now even the ZUP 2.0 which is huge - no issues. These racks are very sturdy.
If a locking pin feels hard to pull out with a heavy load, I just nudge the rack/load up and pull the pin right out.

Will the straps flap against the sides of the boat?
If they do, just put a twist in the strap. Like truckers do when securing a load or we do when securing the bimini straps to the hull.

Not flap however the back one does sit against the hull when i stapped it. Looking at it further, i probably just need to flip it so it goes Round the rear step instead. Probably how he designed it and i didn't know. He even cut all straps yo custom length and sewed loops in the ends so they won't get pulled through and lost. He was like, " you have kids so we're doing this". I can appreciate!

In fact i just noticed he even put pockets for the side straps so the little excess can get tucked in!

While at my barber I noticed he still had this Hyperlite Broadcast 5'6" surf board in the back. Offered him a low price since it's pretty used looking and took it home. It's a good bit lighter than my 5'6" Liquid Force Fish. I like that the nose is kicked up more so hopefully it won't pearl as easy as the Fish can.

I got 1 Anchor Shade 3 today. I'll be getting another ASAP. I really like it. The only draw back I see so far is the 'hardware' is light wait plastic.

I'm looking forward to the Sunday and Monday lake days!
