Hi everyone. I am new to boating and trailering. I brought home my boat trailer to do some maintenance and have a basic question that I’m embarrassed to ask…
The placard on the trailer says “cold tire pressure: 50psi.” The sidewall of the tire states “never exceed 32psi pressure.” However, on the same tire sidewalk, it states “maximum load 1850lbs at 50psi.” I looked up the tire online (Carlisle Sport Trail ST215/75D14) and it states a recommended pressure of 50psi.
So… what pressure do I pump the tires to before a boat is loaded? Everything seems like it should be 50psi, but the “never exceed 32psi pressure” comment is throwing me off.
