I am having a lot of trouble getting the boat on the trailer level when loading. It's always, and I mean always, leaning to the left, when I pull it out of the water.. It's pissing me off. I don't know what to do.. I have to reset the rear straps after a few miles..You look at the rear of the boat, and its off center with the bunks. I believe it's the front bunks are where it's hanging up. Any ideas?

I've never had an issue with my 2005 MFI trailer when loading (well once I installed the Vee Vee guides but different issues solved with those). It is a self leveling design. Is your trailer the stock MFI trailer or something else? It would piss me off too if I had to deal with that!

Cheers,
Toby

Maybe you're going in too deep and not letting the bunks straighten you out? I run into this occasionally and I jsut back back down so it's floating, then slowly pull back out and she sits right down

normally I have just the forward to middle top of the fenders out of the water when I load, this is enough to let the boat center itself

you may be having to reset the straps because the bow stop is loose, it's a common issue with these trailers,

What do the front bunks look like that would give you that impression, it strange that it's always loading more left, do you have any current or normal prevailing wind that would cause that?

I run into this almost every time with my '14 shoreland'r. Even after VeVe guides. I have never had this much trouble loading a boat and I've been doing it for over 30 years. Really frustrating....
I thought maybe it was because my bunks were loose and just letting the boat sit where ever it was when I pulled up, so I got it as centered as I could and tightened the bunks where they wouldn't rotate but that didn't fix it either.

I make sure sure I pull the trailer out of the water VERY slowly. That way, the boat centers itself on the bunks. You can look in the side view mirror and actually watch it happening.

What he said ^^^

That one is strange the trailer should self level the boat as mentioned. I agree with an earlier post you maybe going to deep when loading or something is wrong with the bunk set up like the left rear bunk is sitting a little lower the right I would measure there height from the trailer and see if its the same also measure the thickness of all the boards as someone may have replaced one of the bunks and not the other and they may not match. The front tips of the front bunk boards are usually just above the water surface when I load so I can see them to make sure I land level.

You don't have 4 batteries powering a honking huge stereo all in the port side storage do you? :)

If not, then I agree with the others....your trailer is too deep. If you don't have to power up to the bow stop, but can float up to it....the trailer is in too deep. You want to have to pull the boat up the last 6-12 inches...that way it self centers.

Hey, I have three batteries all on the port side and my boat sits level. ;)

Sometimes if there is a stronger current or wind i tie a line up to the rear cleat and have someone guide the boat on the trailer as I pull out. But normally I do not need to do that.

if it always lean to the left that means you are seating on the driver seat and pushing that side down result the other side going up and not line up with your pads....you can also place 2 side guard rails at the very end and 2 more right after the tired.. this should get your boat perfectly ties to come in straight with no room to go side ways... the response from others leaving trailer further up or pull out of water slowly will also help line the boat to the trailer... trust vectors (if you do not have them) are a great help in controlling the boa to maneuver the boat at very low speed to line the boat with trailer....

I changed one of my big bunks 2 months before I changed the other 3. During that time, the boat was always off by an inch or so. Now that all 4 bunks are the same wood/carpet, everything is even.

Is the trailer pulled straight into the water? If not one side will be a touch higher out of the water.

He is boating in New York....check for dead bodies between the bunks and the boat.:wtf:

I have welded the bow stop solid as a rock.

I was going to get the Ultimate bunk Boards, but I am not sure I want the boat to be so slick on the trailer that it can move around while trailering, and just slides off when unloading. . Yesterday, I lifted the boat off the trailer with my lift, and vacuumed and sprayed the bunks with silicone spray. Even not wet from water, I was able to winch my boat into place on the trailer with ease. Perhaps this will allow the boat to center itself in the bunks a little easier. We shall see. I do acknowledge I am still a novice at all this, but I am a fast learner... :)

When you pull the boat out is anyone inside it? My wife would always drive the boat onto the trailer and then stay in the driver's seat, causing the boat to lean. Now she stands in the middle and the issue is gone.
