Seems to just drain water from the deck? How does this work when in the water?

Thanks

Its called a scupper. It has a one way flap on it. Works by Gravity.

Here is a video I made that discusses this:

That's the scupper / sinker when it breaks... On the older models it would crack and fill the engine compartment with water Its doesn't seem to happen with the newer models maybe they improved the plastic or they were wrenching it on to tight at the factory when i replaced mine I was amazed how tight it was

Actually there have been 2 reports of 240 series boats where the scupper broke (older models) and the boats took on water. Replaced mine.....the plastic was still strong....but I was in there adding a bilge pump so did it while I was in there.

I think that's the first time I've heard your voice.

You missed your calling for reading children's books aloud. Give me a good rendition of "Little Blue Truck" or "Goodnight Moon" and I would be out like a light!

The newer models have the scupper above the water line. An engineer must have thought it was a bad idea to have a big hole in the hull with no way to stop the water from coming in if there was a failure. Hopefully the original engineer didn't work on Yamaha's ballast system.

But it isnt much above the waterline. Stand on the swim platform or if you are in chop its going to take on water if it breaks or cracks. That is one large hole and will fill quickly. I said to hell with it and just replaced it with SS one. Took 15 minutes.

It may not fail, but it could be game over if it does and fast.

I do have a voice for radio. At my company I'm often the guy that hosts big conference calls and handles Q&A etc.

Must be a really quiet day at the hospital....or you are really bored! LOL
lol. had a couple of no shows which really slows down the day.
