Who has cut the Cable TV cord...what are you using now?

That’s pretty impressive real world numbers for Starlink. The internet is really a techno wonder and Starlink is even more so. Given that it constantly hands off from 1 satellite to another. And since it’s only like a 650 mile round trip to satellite latency isn’t too bad. I had DirecTV satellite internet once and speed wasn’t too bad but the 42,000 mile round trip to geostationary satellite led to unavoidable lag.

Agreed!

So, before I got the star link system I used the app to determine whether or not I’d have issues with the trees. The app uses your camera and has you point the camera at the sky and move all around, the app shows you where you need to point it to complete the study.

That was the result.

This is what it looks like now after being in service.

I've been a YouTube TV subscriber since 2018. Verizon FIOS for my internet. Saved a bundle by dropping the Verizon TV, DVRs, etc. No technical issues with the YouTube TV service over that period. That said, I have not been happy with the price recently. This week they announced another price increase, $82.99/month starting January 13, 2025. When I signed up in 2018 the price was $35/month. They have added a number of channels over the years and the content for each has increased as well. The price for competitors has increased over the same period, so this is not specific to YouTube TV.

I also subscribe to the Disney+ bundle. We do watch some content on Hulu and Disney. Mainly using ESPN+ in the bundle. That and a VPN (Nord) allows me to watch Buffalo Sabres games (local market). However, that has been painful, so often watching other NHL games instead. YouTube TV and ESPN+ gives us access to most soccer games that we are interested in as well.
Thanks for the info, I will try running the Nord app with the ESPN app on my Shield. I am blacked out of Panther hockey games because I am a 90 minute drive away from Ft Lauderdale. Seems crazy that the NHL thinks the Gulf Coast has the capability to get to the games. This is not how you grow a fan base!! I am not really a Panther fan but I could be if allowed to watch all of the games.

Have you tried Panthers Plus, Home, this season? With the Panthers move away from their old cable TV regional sports network, it looks like you should have more access to the games if you no longer have cable TV. Though it does carry a subscription fee. If you already subscribe to Nord and ESPN+, hopefully you will be all set. If it doesn't work out, you can always become a Sabres fan. 😃 Misery loves company.

The Buffalo Sabres are still locked in with a regional sports network. With the continued growth of steaming and the downward spiral of cable TV, I look forward to the death of regional sports networks.

I do not wish to pay for the Panthers games because I already pay for them via ESPN+. I was raised in Pittsburgh, so you know who my boys are :)
