just curious as to why the 19 footers do not have the large bimini tops like the 24'. I realize they are relative to the size of the boat, it just looks like the rear of the top goes way back on the bigger boats. thanks for the pic hoyt.

Only the 242X and Limited S E-Series have that big bimini - rest the 24' lineup has the small top as well.

Same top as the 21' boats. I prefer the folding top vs the exposed metal frame. Only on hot days in WI do we put the top up, otherwise we keep it down and enjoy the sun. Different in FL though, I'm sure. Having to look at that ugly frame without the top would annoy me.

Yeah....bimini tops are definitely location dependent! Southerners what HUGE ones, northerners often don't use them at all! This is not a one size fits all thing.

@Yamahaul .....depends on the 19 footer. The non-wakeboard tower boats have a larger bimini.

I can't seem to find the dimensions of the Ar195 vs Sx195 Bimini top, does anyone know?
I don't think that info is posted anywhere...probably need to have owners get out tape measures and compare SX vs AR bimini dims. I'd help but my boat is sleeping till spring.
?

Not sure on dimensions but the SX is maybe a little longer. It's not by a whole bunch when you look at side profile images of the two boats but it does seem to go back and fully cover anyone sitting in the back of the cockpit. That being said the tower offers way more versatility to the boat than just a pole bimini. You can always have one custom made by SewLong or local custom shop if you want something larger.

Thanks for info and advice. I thought the same thing, it looks slightly larger but not by much.

The regular bimini cover wasn’t large enough for us in the hot summer sun, so we use a pop-up canopy from Taylor Made. It’s nice because the whole thing stores in a skinny long bag thats easy to stow in the boat. You can use it over the bow or over the stern, the lines attach to the boat cleats. It effectively doubles the coverage. I think it was about $100 on Amazon.

We plan to get something like this for those hot sunny days to extend over the swim platform.

Yeap. I have the same one. Works great in either bow or stern usage. We bought ours to keep the toddler shaded. He doesn't seem to car anymore, so we lounge and sip a cold beverage in the shade while the kids swim.

The SX is a little longer and curls a bit more down the sides but both are pretty decent and do give respectable shade for 19 footers - up North here.....Key West would be different! It would not be difficult to get any decent canvas shop to fabricate a couple of aluminum extension pieces and some extra fabric to extend your top.

I'm in VA and plan to use mine rarely, i.e. when the grandkids visit and are on the boat. In general when I go out on the water I don't plan on being in the shade.
