This video is a fairly comprehensive demonstration of the new Connext System while in operation on the water.

@JetBoatPilot nice video, very helpful seeing how it works with the boat underway.

I know you were covering the basic operations on the display unit but I do have a question abouth a function of the unit. I thought I read somewhere that the new system will display, maybe when the engines are off, all the same parameters that you can see after connecting a laptop with YDS system installed on the pre-2015 motors, is this true or am I dreaming?

Not sure about that. I did not hear about that nor have I tested it. I will have to get back with you on that question. We just bought an AR240 and I will see if the operating manual mentions that.

Yes you hold down the "sys ctrl" button for three sec. to access.

Thanks for the video Will. I think the touchscreen as a significant improvement over manually cycling through the gauges on the previous version. I know everyone is concerned about reliability of the system. Does anyone know the cost to replace the unit should it fail outside of warranty? I am also curious as to the method used to do software/firmware updates?

Nice video Will. Do you know if you can turn off the depth alarm altogether?

You can mute it or set the depth to 1 foot deep.

Thanks for all the great video's Will. You and everyone else have made my decision to buy a 2015 an easy one.

1 foot deep might be ok.

Wow. That system is incredible. I tend to lean to more of a positive switch/circuit type of electronics for reliability and easy of repair. But I can see the allure of all those bells and whistles. I wonder if there's a child lock on that, because kids are going to love pushing all those buttons !!

PS. Great video Will. You certainly have a natural ability to demonstrate what the viewer wants to know. Well done.

Great video @JetBoatPilot ! Perhaps I missed it, but I assume the stereo has a Satellite option?

Yes Sirius is built in but you have to subscribe obviously. Thanks @itsdgm

@JetBoatPilot - I have a subscription for my truck already. What else do I need to activate the Sirius on my 240 through Connext?

So I found the Amazon music app a few months ago when I got myself back into the gym. If you are a prime member it is free, commercial free, and you can download for offline listening for free. You can even make your own playlists. Granted the song selection is a bit more limited than other services but it is ...... FREE. What can I say I am about to put my first through college with two more closely behind.

I personally like the 50 great 2000s rock songs playlist they have.

I thought about doing this myself. Mobile internet isn't the greatest for me while out on the water though. I guess if you can make a playlist and then play it offline it would solve the internet problem.

The tuner below and then call xm and add the radio to your subscription. Haggle with them. I just got 6 months for $30 for the boat only.

https://www.amazon.com/SiriusXM-SXV300v1-Connect-Vehicle-Satellite/dp/B00NJTO4CY

I did the same (but from Best Buy $29.99) and utilized the 3 free months. Then I started to get emails twice a week begging for me to come back at the same offer you had (6mo/$30).

This will be my second year using that offer to my advantage. - love having XM! highly recommended

I never connected my AR240 to Sirrius so I am not the best to answer that question @Mystic1906

Bought the attachment and connected it two days ago. Plays great so far, especially when I'm out of range of radio stations.
