I have always used a wine cork. But, the wine cork I have been using for the past several years is wearing down. I am really not wanting to have to drink another bottle of wine just to be able to have a plug for the ice chest. ;)

What does everyone else use?

I've been using the stock drain plug. Works great. Has held up for 3 years so far.

I have tried a couple of different after market plunger cork stoppers but what I found that works best for me is a synthetic wine cork shaved down on one end to fit into the drain hole.

I had tried a bunch of various plugs too and ended up with the wine cork too.....does that put us in the same boat? :D

I used a pump up wine cork...worked perfectly on the 230 travis. I might have a picture...

The cork sealed it fine without pumping it. I never used the pump and hated this cork on my wine, so it was a win/win!
Now I don't have a built in cooler:(

Thanks for the intel! You may not have a built in cooler, but you have AO!! I didn't think you used your built in cooler when you had it.

I did occasionally Travis. I would put all the condiments/food/etc in there so it wasn't taking up room in the AO. But eventually, I got a 12 can AO for that, and didn't hardly use the built in for anything. Even still, if we had a bigger group, I might have both coolers busy with ice and drinks and put the food in the built in.

Ahh, ok. That makes sense.

I, personally, love the built in cooler. That is the main one I always use. Sometimes we will bring a soft-sided cooler for food items we plan on grilling. I do wish the built in cooler had some sort of built in hinge or something that made it more simple to open and close. But, I am still happy with it!

I like the cushion arrangement in the bow of the 230 better so far, than I do the 240. It has 3 cushions per side, and you have to remove the center so you can easily remove any of the others. What do you do with all of these when getting stuff in/out. And the filler cushion is huge, and if that wasn't an issue, how about the fact that it is TWO huge filler cushions. Not sure this works well, we will see, but it is what it is and we will get used to it.

I used to use a Plastic wine cork with a rubber seal and a handle to engage / widen the end. Now for the anchor locker I am using a tapered rubber / metal wine cork.

If you just need another cork, consider buying the cheapest bottle of wine you can find just for the cork. I think both of the stoppers I've used were over $6 each. I don't buy much wine but I'm sure I've seen bottles for $3 also bevmo often has a 5 cent wine promotion going (I think it is buy one bottle and get another of equal or lesser value for 5 cents).

Mel, I have only seen pictures of the 240 series. I have never actually been inside one. From the pictures, I tend to like the bow of the 230 series better. The 240 series definitely has other improvements though!

Ronnie, I am going to try the plug that Julian posted. If I don't have any luck with that, I am going to be consuming a bottle of wine. ;)

Well, I do drink wine.... I have just been joking around about "having" to drink vino. We could drain a bottle at Broken Bow, Mel.

You might get yourself into screw cap territory with a pair of wine bottles for $3.05, Ronnie! ;):joyful::cyclops::dead:

Reminds me of a couple of Steve Martin lines from the original Muppet Movie (1979):

"Sparkling Muscatel - one of the finest wines of Idaho!"
"Don't you want to smell the bottle cap?"
