Here is how i did my 190 fsh
It works best outside the haul thats my recomendation.
You have to cut the tranducer wire and then reattached them carefully that way you dont open a big hole on the transom, that how i always do it in all my boats.

In addition, the bubbles created by the jet so close to the transducer will and does cause issues. Yes, conventional outboard and inboard engines create bubbles near the transom but not nearly as much and to the extent that a jet boat does.
Not sure how you came to the conclusion that a jet boat has more bubbles near the transom. Jet boats actually strive to have fewer bubbles running under the boat because bubbles interfer with the jet pumps and cause cavitation, while most other boats are actually trying to CREATE bubbles to reduce friction - some even inject them, but most use strakes and other methods do draw air in under the boat.

I'm not speaking in regards to bubble under the hull. I'm talking about bubble created from the jet itself. The jet pump is VERY close to the transom itself while outboards are mounted to the transom with the propeller 2-3 feet away. Same with a an inboard, the crank shaft is protruding through the transom for multiple feet.
The output of a jet is behind the transom by 1-2 feet, and is actually above the bottom of the boat. I have twin jets on the back of my boat, and my transducer works fine...until it gets knocked up out of position (which I think happens more with jets at there is no outdrive to protect it from being knocked/bumped).

So I'm not sure I understand why you can't put an external transducer on an FSH. I initially wondered if it was because of the steps and layout of the transom, but looks like at least one member has installed one on the step there with success.

Thanks

Just as @Julian said, I also have twin jets with a transom mounted transducer and mine also works just fine. Even at WOT mine still provides a proper reading.

Does your transducer have DownView and SideView??? Or is your a standard transducer? If standard, sure, transom mount it. If it uses SideView, no go. Either way, great if you all can transom mount. I was told by 2 mechanics and 1 person with a jet boat it will not work, period.
Which transducer were you trying to install? I'm not savvy on the sideview transducers. Mine is the base model version that came with my Garmin GPSMAP 541.

Mine is just a standard transducer. I confess, I didn't know that you were talking about one with down & side view capability. While I still find it odd that it would not work being transom mounted. Based on my ignorance of the subject. I will now keep my opinions to myself. :sorry::shamefullyembarrased:

Oh, by the way. Great pictures!:winkingthumbsup"

I highly doubt they will. Call a canvas company and get one made, I would use white Stamoid for the cover (canvas guys will know what that is). Stamoid is a tough vinyl like canvas that holds up very well to heat/sun/bleach cleanings and is white to reflect the heat off of your expensive electronics underneath.

We are in the process of building a new cup holder tray for the top of the console. What did you have in mind @ClemsonTiger

I understand now. We can certainly design and build those for the FSH but I feel that our price will be a lot higher than what Yamaha might come out with sometime in the near future. No one has told me that Yamaha plans to produce these but I imagine they are already on this. Our covers would be made from Sunbrella and would be high end. Not sure on a price at the moment.

Ok. Please keep me informed and up to date in regards to the redesigned cup holder and when it will be available. If and when pictures are available please share as well.
@ClemsonTiger Tiger looking for some assistance on wiring the new fish finder to the FSH. I just got one for Christmas and I'm wondering if you could provide any pictures on how you went about wiring it in? I'm assuming you used one of two extra accessory switches? I'm also getting ready to install my VHF radio, wanted to see if you equipped your fsh with one as well. I'm not electrical savy so any info or pictures you could provide would be extremely appreciated.

Thanks Much,
CJ
