The Ballast lean!!

Boat Crazy snapped a good picture of my boat this past weekend with the infamous ballast lean!! I just thought it was a cool picture. Funny thing I had to take the daughter back to the marina to use the restroom and I seen a guy freaking out and then he yells over "Is your boat sinking?" I chuckled and said " No" while laughing. I said" It is just ballast." 2900 water weight and 800 pounds people weight and gear.

I will try and get a picture of the wave off of the Gopro. It sure is fun to surf behind.

I can see your avatar pic and that wake looks pretty big there! I have tried to surf now about 3 times. I was ever able to get up. Everyone said, oh its easy. So, I just went out and tried it. It didn't happen. Couldn't get up. Decided that I should watch some videos, etc despite being told anyone can do it. Yep, after watching the videos, I am certain I was trying to get up wrong. So, next time out, with a competent driver, I am going to try it again!

Getting up without instruction probably would be complicated, and you are getting up without a tower, which also aids in getting up easier, but once you learn mechanics it isn't that bad. That wake in my avatar is real washy...the wake this past weekend we had it better tuned and it had a curl over the top....very nice.

I must like that spot for pictures. in both of them I am in the same spot...LOL Look like your boat is listing over farther but then again I guess I do have more center weight in mine to sink the whole boat deeper. Kind of crazy the different set-ups but still monster huge wakes!!!

@farrelltravis do you wakeboard? I learned from @OperationROL @007 @trace @buckbuck ...all amazing teachers! Watching someone do it really helps to understand the fluid movement of getting up. Foot position is key too.

I have never been able to get up on skis, wakeboard, or a surfboard. I have recently lost 75 pounds, so I am hoping that this year I can figure these things out and cross them off my list! I think losing the 75 pounds will help make that happen.
