Glad to hear… not knowing how old the AR240 was, it is a matter of how old the craft is… as long as it is at least 18 months I think it doesn’t throw any red flags.. and the sales tax is not an issue either.. ca wants their sales tax money!I had a AR195 (not emissions legal in CA) on order in AZ under father-in-laws address. I live in SD. Planned on registering in AZ and bringing to CA (where I'm a resident) and using in both states. After a year I planned on changing registration to CA.
Ended up buying a used AR240 (non-CA compliant model). Brought to CA and used for about 6 months with AZ stickers before I finally got the registrstion updated. It's completely legal to use an out-of-state boat in CA. Never got questioned once.
When I did switch over there's nothing in that process that flags the boat as "not CA-legal". I did it at AAA for both the boat and trailer. Easy day.

all great questions. I looked after I took the boat out and I could not find anything. Did not hit anything. My question is why would the engine warning come on? My thottles do move but nothing happens when I move them. Does not go in reverse or forward.Aren't those buckets Mechanical? Is there something jammed in there? Maybe something small? Do your throttles move down in reverse all the way?
You just made a long trip you mentioned. Perhaps a stone or something bounced up in there? Did you back into something?
left one does but the right one does not. I stayed closed the entire timeSo first off do the buckets move up and
did the engine warning come on? when we started it the first time the engine warning immediately came on. so if the flush plug wasn't secure on the right side and I tried to put it in reverse then I could have sucked something up? I didn't move from the launch ramp.Bro, did you put the clean out plugs in and seat them by turning and locking them in? If not you would get no or very little thrust. I have done it a couple times when i first got the boat.
yes but you are correct when we launched the boat I did have to lock both of them due to they were barely on.I am refering to the two large jet pump plugs under the hatch on your swim deck, did you lock those into place.
I did nothing got sucked up. The right shift gate never opened. Talked to a dealer and could be a slew of things. Going to take the boat in mid week.That is typical, you pull them when you pull the boat and then put them in and lock them when you launch. Maybe you didn't lock them in solid. Just a guess. Without seeing whats happening when you move your throttle and what the linkeage is doing or seeing the plugs, just making some suggestions.
You could also check the pumps and look through and from under to see if you may have sucked something up in there.
