I didn't mount it to anything yet, it's just sitting there. Wasn't going to screw a hole thru the side of my boat...lol. think I'll just lay it flat on the floor for piece of mind. All I have in there is a fire extinguisher, 2 batteries and and amp now. Not going to use the compartment for anything but that. There is a picture in the first post you can see, thanks for always replying, I surely appreciate it
This is in my battery compartment, all the wires already ran and the most convenient place for me.

You can also consider velcro strips to hold it or a mounting board to the carpet. It keeps it from sliding around.
I just screwed it into the floor with some short self tappers and said fuck it
