Auto Bilge

Curious ?
When you install a second bilge are you using the same drain hose or adding another. If both bilges are working there is only so much volume that the hose can handle.
Agreed...ideally you want to install a 2nd hose or you won't get full flow and actually risk back flow if one is running and the other is not.

That was my worry of someone using the same hose. I know that these are not high pressure but what happens if its full and both come on. You might create enough pressure to burst the hose, or something else. Only to fill your boat up with the same water your pumping out.

I do recommend installing a second hose and through hull fitting. Wakemakers sells the same hose that Yamaha uses stock and I found an exact match to my through hull on Amazon.

I ran a second hose. The stock hose can not flow enough.

Do you happen to have a link to that through hull that Yamaha uses?
Thanks!

Check the size.. this is the size i needed for my 1100 gph pump but they have all different sizes. And my boat is a 2008... it may be slightly different

What pumps with the built in float switch are you all using? I’ve read a lot of bad product reviews of floats sticking in the on position draining battteries.

Must not have bought that on Amazon. I can say that it is a Johnson brand pump with the attached float switch box and a 3/4 outlet. I liked the design of that float switch and Johnson has a good reputation. I test it a few times a year by simply using my finger to trigger the float with the tab that extends out of the box.

Get one with a separate float switch. I've never seen a float switch fail and I've seen lots of 30+ thay old boats docked in salt water. I'm sure they fail, but I've replaced a bunch of the internal float pumps. I hate the automatic pumps that cycle.

Have you heard of a 2018 AR242 S E-Series Bilge running even with all power switches off?
